Decided on the name Louie for our little boy due in a few weeks.
Any suggestions for a middle name?
Not john or James
Thanks

Louie Benjamin sounds lovely.

Are there any relative's names or names of people you admire that you might consider?

Dinopee · 02/07/2021 20:08

I’m sorry but I also clicked on the thread thinking spell it Louis.

KirstenBlest · 02/07/2021 20:15

Spell it Louis. You could always use Louie as a nn, but Louis is by far the better spelling.

Violetlavenders · 02/07/2021 20:18

Louie is lovely.

Louie is easy to pronounce and will not ever be mispronounced as Lou-is!

How about

Louie Charles
Louie Stephen
Louie Nathan

Violetlavenders · 02/07/2021 20:20

Louis is the French version. Often pronounced Lou-is outside of France.

Louie works much better in the Uk.

ohthatbloodycat · 02/07/2021 20:22

I would avoid any middle names starting with a vowel Smile Consonants flow better after a name which ends in silent 's'.

KirstenBlest · 02/07/2021 20:23

@Violetlavenders

Louis is the French version. Often pronounced Lou-is outside of France.

Louie works much better in the Uk.

Tell that to Louis Theroux and Prince Louis.
Kanaloa · 02/07/2021 20:36

I would also probably spell it Louis rather than Louie unless there’s some reason it had to be Louie.

Middle name could be anything really, but if you don’t have any names you like, does he need one? If you do want one maybe Sebastian, Thomas, Peter, Michael, Robert, Oliver, Jackson, Edmund, Theodore? All would sound nice.

Ohpulltheotherone · 02/07/2021 20:46

Louis / Louie Thomas

drumandthebass · 02/07/2021 20:53

Another one to say spell it Louis. I have a Louis who is 18 and it's only been mispronounced a couple of times and then it's been Louise!

Louis Albert
Louis George
Louis William
Louis Stephen

Happenchance · 02/07/2021 21:23

Louie Cameron
Louie Sullivan
Louie Conner

HappyTimeTunnelDinosaur · 02/07/2021 21:25

Not my style, but Cecil or Frances are similar in feel.

The only middle name for Louie is Louie

halle123 · 02/07/2021 23:14

I know 3 boys called Louis aged between 2-12 all pronounced Lewis. My other sons name ends in 'ie' we will be spelling it Louie 🙂

I love George which is an uncles name but wasn't sure if Louie George sounded right?
Love the suggestion Louie Francis which is actually my fathers middle name, partner isn't so keen.
Louie Benjamin is cute too!
