We are expecting baby girl #3 - which will be baby #4 and are super stuck on names! Other kids names: Brighton Amalee, Turner Brandon, Rixley Elizabeth.

I have the name Wilder/Wylder really stuck in my head for her but want to hear feedback on thoughts for using that name for a little girl.

Also really like Clover - my bday is st. Patricks day and she would be lucky #4. But, not sure the name works yet or not?!

Mavis and Saylor are our safer options, but I keep coming back to Wilder/Wylder.

Appreciate any and all feedback!!! We would probably do Marie for middle name or something simple and more feminine. Thanks everyone!!!

I really like clover.

@ArchbishopOfBanterbury

I really like Clover. It reminds me of the classic books "What Katy did" - she's Katy's sister, a pretty, clever, fun, and happy character. A great namesake.
Immediately thought of these books. Love the name Clover.

Margate?
Dover?
Bosham?

PetraRabbit · 17/06/2021 00:32

Your other names are very surnamey which is absolutely not my own taste but I think you need to stick with the theme. Mavis I love but it isn't a safe option- it doesn't match your other names. Your other names are ultra modern, unisex whereas Mavis is vintagey and very female.

Saylor isn't great as surname names go....too many jokes.....Wylder is a suitable choice I think. It's elegant in its own way actually. Aaron Johnston and Sam Taylor Wood's daughter is called Wylder. It doesn't sound made up, it sounds American.

Clovelly Grace?

Strokethefurrywall · 17/06/2021 00:44

Love Wilder, Sailor (spelt Sailor) and Clover. I know one that went to high school with my sister, she’d be 43 now!
Don’t like Mavis because I don’t care for old granny names like Maude, Mildred, Mavis, Mabel.

AnotherSunrise · 17/06/2021 01:11

All horrible!

AnotherSunrise · 17/06/2021 01:12

Clovelly Grace?
Clovelly? Is a place in Wales
PattyPan · 17/06/2021 01:14

Is this a wind-up? Confused they are all so terrible. The least bad is Clover but even then you’ve got margarine jokes.

bigbeautwoman · 17/06/2021 01:31

it's a no from me on all accounts

Kokeshi123 · 17/06/2021 04:47

You can't call her "Wilder"---"Wilder and wilder"? "Wild" as an adjective has sexual connotations. Boys will make crude jokes. Ditto "Saylor."

Mavis is just about OK but sounds a bit odd with all your other names. "Clover" is probably the best of the bunch.

FindingMeno · 17/06/2021 04:55

Wilder.

garlictwist · 17/06/2021 05:03

Why not spell it "Sailor"? What's with all the random spellings?

Ritascornershop · 17/06/2021 05:04

I loathe misspelled names so Saylor and Wylder are out for me. I also don’t like Sailor and Wilder would be hard to carry as it has such extroverted expectations linked to it.

Don’t like Mavis, but what about Maeve?

Clover is nice.

Hathertonhariden · 17/06/2021 08:10

It's a seaside resort in Devon. The OP's oldest dd is called Brighton so it goes with the theme and isn't far from Clover which the OP likes

Clovelly would go nicely with Brighton GrinGrin
EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 17/06/2021 09:11

Brighton comes up on some of the baby name sites. I do think the OP’s picked the wrong audience though.

OpalBerry · 17/06/2021 09:18

I like Clover like Sophie Dahl's sister/Roald Dahl's granddaughter

CatRamsey · 17/06/2021 09:24

I've already commented once but I'm so surprised about the hate for Saylor! I think it's a lovely name and I don't see it as a made up spelling at all - it's just like Taylor with an S!

MerryChristmasToYou · 17/06/2021 09:45

@AnotherSunrise, Clovelly? Is a place in Wales

It's in England.

ChocOrange1 · 17/06/2021 12:10

@DramaAlpaca

I'm going to limit myself to saying that your taste in names and mine are vastly different, OP.
Same here, i don't think my comments would be useful.
Classica · 17/06/2021 12:12

I'm Grin at Mavis nestled in there amongst the more off-beat names.
