Wilder/Wylder/Clover/Mavis/Saylor - baby girl name help please!!

We are expecting baby girl #3 - which will be baby #4 and are super stuck on names! Other kids names: Brighton Amalee, Turner Brandon, Rixley Elizabeth.

I have the name Wilder/Wylder really stuck in my head for her but want to hear feedback on thoughts for using that name for a little girl.

Also really like Clover - my bday is st. Patricks day and she would be lucky #4. But, not sure the name works yet or not?!

Mavis and Saylor are our safer options, but I keep coming back to Wilder/Wylder.

Appreciate any and all feedback!!! We would probably do Marie for middle name or something simple and more feminine. Thanks everyone!!!

Just said that Mavis brings to my mind an old woman who happens to also be sour faced.

That said, I quite like Wilder. Reminds me of Laura Ingalls.

I like Mavis, with Mave or Mavy for short.

Wilder / Wylder - sounds more masculine than feminine, and the wild puts me off
Clover - definitely the best option
Saylor - as mentioned previously, the ‘oi oi Sailor / drunken sailor’ comments would put me off. But if it’s a contender I’d go with the Sailor spelling
Mavis - too grannyish

Saylor is awful, please ditch that one.

Clover is lovely, especially if you're American (we have a margarine brand called clover in the UK which ruins it a bit for using here)

Wilder does go with your other names but I think it reads more as a boys name.

Mavis is lovely but I agree looks a bit out of place with your other children's names.

Some other suggestions- Rowan, Marlowe, Everly, Cadence, Juniper

Clover is very likeable
Mavis - I am not keen but it’s similar to Mabel which has been revived so it’s usable
Saylor is very downmarket
Wilder/Wylder is downmarket and odd for a girl

How about Wildeve OP? I know a Wildeve and she really suits the name - she is a free spirit and brimming with confidence.

Have you not being paying really close attention to people's reactions to your current children's names?

I am really sorry but my honest thought in my head about Wilder on a girl is it sounds like a porn star or stripper name and she is going to have men ask if she is ‘wild by name wild by nature’.

I would go Clover from your list and with the sibling names.

Those are particularly rubbish names!

I think Wilder goes best with your other dc names, although I'm not a huge fan of it. I actually quite like Saylor but in the minority clearly! Clover is ok. I'm really not keen on Mavis, very dowdy and boring compared to your other options.

From your other DC names I'm guessing you are American so this probably isn't the best place to ask, however, if you keep coming back to the same name ( whatever the spelling) then it is the one you should pick. It's your kid. It shouldn't matter what the world thinks. Congratulations on your impending arrival!

I'm going to limit myself to saying that your taste in names and mine are vastly different, OP.

Clover is the nicest name but Wilder goes best with your other names.

I’ve always loved Clover. It’s fresh and simple and outdoorsy - a ‘happy’ name. Also love the character from the What Katy Did books. For me it doesn’t fit all that well with your other DC’s names though - it’s gentler and more ‘Cottage-Core’ to my ears.

Really not keen on your other names tbh. I have an elderly Aunt Mavis and can’t get past that - seems very clunky and dated to me.

Yes I assumed American too. Just a case of different strokes for different folks I guess!

I know Wilder/Wylder in particular is a massive hit right now on lots of international baby names sites/Insta influencer accounts but I personally don’t get the appeal.

Sailor is just about useable as a name imo, but I think a "Saylor" will spend her life spelling it for people. Wilder (not Wylder please for the same reason) is quite masculine imo and will likely get men making sexual jokes about her name. Mavis is very "elderly lady", so I personally wouldn't want to be called it.

But if you are in the US, I think Clover is pretty and you have a nice reason for using it (I don't think you have the butter brand there - here in the UK you might risk "easily spreadable" jokes as the name is quite uncommon). Or a lovely alternative might be Meadow?

Saylor and Mavis don't go with your other names.
