@itsgettingwierd

I like it.

And I think Archie and Lili sound lovely together for sibling names.

I actually like the fact they've stepped away from traditional rosy all names that come out over and over (they each have about 5 each!).

I also like that they have others such as Savannah, Lena, Mia, Isla, August and Lucas.

Lili does sound nice (spelt Lily it would have been better.)

It's the fact that they used the Queen's pet name - Lilibet - when they show such disdain towards the Royal family, and everything it represents, and wanted to distance themselves from it. (Well, until it suits them to be part of it...) Hmm

They wanted it all. They wanted to be independent, and to not have to be arsed with Royal duties, but they wanted to keep the Royal titles. They were refused, and told 'you don't get to have it both ways; you're in or you're out.' They chose OUT ... (Well Meghan did as she dragged Harry across to America, 6000 miles away from his family and friends.)

They then said they want no publicity, but have pushed their face into - and ONTO - everything, then cried off when people try to report anything on them. They constantly complain about how awful we all are, and Meghan chucks in all sorts of nasty accusations against the Royal family, and Harry calls it a prison and a cult. Yet here they are using the Queen's pet name for their daughter's name!

Every day that passes, they get more ludicrous and dislikeable.

I agree with previous posters; it's massively attention seeking, almost the the point of being desperate. As I said earlier, they're the most irksome pair to ever emerge from the Royal Family. They are actually an utter embarrassment. I bet the Queen facepalms every time she hears their names mentioned.

LOL at the people saying "Other people are called Lilibet too, you know?" and "They're just using Gramma's name---what could be nicer?"

Lilibet is a very, very unusual name--of course they are not using it by blind coincidence. And, honestly, it truly is weird to use Grandma's name for a new baby when you, the parents, have just had a big public row with that side of the family.

Tone deaf, poorly advised.

Thank you. Smile

I think it's a bit trite and unimaginative tbh. Also that poor kid. It's like having other people's names rather than your own.
Lili is ok.

Clearly an attention seeking move designed to keep them in the spotlight. If they wanted to use family names why is no one from Meghan's side included

Yes because it's the law you HAVE to have names from EACH side of the family if you use family names. 🙄

Jeez.

Phantom1 · 08/06/2021 03:42

Despite the fact that they have trashed their nearest and dearest, it all smacks of clinging on to their royal connection which is all they have. When the Queen (and she has been a long-serving, faultless and fabulous Queen) is no longer with us, they will have their own little Lilibet to monetise.

Kerching.

JewelGarden · 08/06/2021 03:59

I can't believe I used to think Harry was cool Blush

I cant shake the feeling they have used both there children's names to make a point Harry has always had the press claiming he was James Hewitts son not Charles so they give his son the middle name Harrison literally means harrys son now this one we love granny really 💙 it just feels calculated

sunglassesonthetable · 08/06/2021 08:03

Percy - that's nonsense. And total speculation unless they've been on the phone to you.

sunglassesonthetable · 08/06/2021 08:05

So glad none put my DC name choice's under the microscope like this 😂 I would have failed miserably.

Roussette · 08/06/2021 08:29

Really? Since when? First I've heard of that. Parents choose names they want from one, both or no sides of the family.

Maybe she’s not as black as she says she is because her family has been forgotten about when it suits her

What in god's name does that mean? How can someone be 'not as black as they say they are'?

And what do you know about her family relationships... unless of course you have inside information. Which you don't.

littlepattilou Perfect!

@Violetlavenders

Well said Pattilou

Thank you Blush

Great thread by the way. Much better than the one on the Royal Family board from 2 days ago. That got so toxic and nasty that I left after 4 or 5 posts. The personal attacks against me and a couple of other posters (from 3 or 4 of the Harry and Meghan obsessives,) was actually disturbing.

This one is much more balanced, with most Harry and Meghan fans being miffed and defensive, but not issuing personal attacks.

I agree.

Classic, attention-seeking behaviour from this couple.

@PresentingPercy

Most parents who choose family names try and choose one from each side of the family.

Exactly this. Very odd to have not used something from Meghan's side too.

No, not really.

BIWI · 08/06/2021 08:46

Not necessarily.

DS1 & 2 have their middle names from my FIL and my DM, because we didn't like my DF's name (and he only had one name, didn't have a middle name!). Even my DF was happy with that - as we did run it past him - and he said he didn't really like his own name, and didn't think it would be a good choice.

MargaretFraggle · 08/06/2021 08:52

It's a nice name. I personally prefer Elizabeth or Lily.

But Harry and Meghan using it is.... interesting.
