Pippin?

I absolutely love this name, but its gotten very mixed reactions from others so I wanted to know what everyone on here thinks

Adorable for a baby, less so for a teenager/adult. Would be a great nickname though?

Pippin sounds like a dog's name. Nickname at best.

I went to school with a boy named Pepin. He did get teased a bit about it, but was generally a pretty cool and charismatic guy so carried it off pretty well. It's Germanic in origin and means "awe inspiring".

I know someone who had a dog called Pippin, its predecessor was Muffin ... twee dog names.

Come Outside was still on CBeebies in 2010 although very dated, I loved it! How they made soap, toothpaste, Hunter wellies, etc. The crisps episode was banned though and only available on YouTube (wouldn't want to encourage unhealthy eating! )
Anyway give slightly off topic but Pippin as a name for anyone other than a pet - no.

It's short for Peregrine which is a stonkingly posh name.

Otherwise could be short for Philip (Philip -> Pip -> Pippin).

I quite like it as a nickname, especially for a small boy. But I would never, never use it on the birth certificate.

Great for a pet. Are you mid pregnancy? I came up with some corkers. Dd1 was going to be called Lorelai at one point our surname has 2 syllables beginning with L. She is 15 now with a normal name and 🙄🙄 at the very idea!

There was a tv series in the uk in the 80s that had a dog in it called pippin.

I have a friend of a friend, 43ish yo guy called Pip.
I assumed it was a nickname when I met him and his parents were LOTR fans, but nope!
I really like it and it suits him too.
