Names heard in the playground

Usually I seem to only hear Joshua/William/Theo and I have recently noticed lots of Roman's and Harper's.
Today I heard Ernest, Primrose and Inca!
What names do you hear shouted most often in the playground, and what are the most unusual names you have heard while there?

Dottie, Dollie and Binky. All at the same playground!

I met a baby Roy on my postnatal ward recently. I didn’t realise there were any Roys aged under 50.

Lots of Raffertys around here. I know 2 who live within a few doors of us. Both primary age.

DS has a Brian at his nursery which would be the most different one to me. There’s also a buntybell and a star
The rest of them are all variations of Ava Eva Sophia etc

In a baby group we had twin boys- Castor and Pollux

They were a bit early so ended up being Gemini instead of Cancer which was handy.

We also tend to have lots of surname ones around here - Harrison, Cooper, Carson and Hendrix. We also had a baby Atticus which I thought was lovely.

In terms of girls names they all seemed to be called Ivy and Miya.

In our playground I seem to hear a lot of Jack, Oliver, Charlie, Alfie, Amelia and Bella.

The more unusual ones: Barnabus, Dolly, Ernie and Heathcliff.

Loads of these on this thread i don't think are unusual and i would blink at or think remotely unusual!

For example a couple of years ago we heard of 3 Barnabus / Barnabys in a couple of months.

Also surnames as first names are dead common and on trend.

I have come across a Marmaduke, an Atticus (i thought that was one that MNetters just regret not using rather than anyone actually using), a Phineas, an Ophelia (another MN regret name) and a Rayden (with an even worse middle name).

The OP asked both what are the most unusual names and what names do you most often hear. So it stands to reason that people answering will also include the more on trend or commonly used names as well as the more “out there” names. People are just answering the questions.

DS at Jewish school, so a lot of Ariella, Ayala, Jake/Jacob

DS made friends with a Sullivan at a playground last week. Love it!

In a hospital waiting room, a call for Nefertiti... the only one I’ve heard 🙂

The weirdest names I’ve come across are Persephone and Somerset

I heard a Misty Blue recently in the playground.

I thought it would be lovely in my downstairs loo.

A weird mixture of granny/ grandad chic and surnames as names here

That could have been Oisin ?

More likely Océane, which is a French name.
