Do you prefer my or husband's favourite name ?

DH asked me to post this thread lol , because we cannot decide and he is so sure his favs are just of better taste. We don't know the sex yet. He likes the names I like , and I like his. But "my" names just seem more beautiful. PLEASE DECIDE FOR US :

Levi or Daniel
Harper or Mary

I’m an EYFS teacher and there are 4 Harpers in my class. 3 girls, one boy-I’ve never had that many of the same name in a class since my first class of 4 Charlottes back in the 90s!

Levi is ok, but I’m not keen.

Matthew - ok
Austin - really like
Manny - no no no

Zoe - love
Hannah - ok
Leah - dislike
Cadence - ok

Nina - lov

Where did your DH get that idea about Cadence? It's not a name at all. It's like calling a child 'Rhyme' or 'Key signature'. Has he confused it with Candace? (Not posh). Cressida and Cecily are 'posh, intelligent' names.

Levi and Harper definitely

Ahh sorry I don't like either of the boys. I really dislike Daniel tho so would go for Levi. Harper is so lovely

I like all the names except for Harper.

Nina is a great name!

Zoe, Hannah, Nina are all great names and definitely preferable (IMO) to Harper or Mary

I'm less keen on your boys names but Matthew and Austin are ok (nicer than Daniel or Levi)

Harper makes me think of someone "harping on" / a harpie, and it's just not a nice sound to me - sorry!

Levi does make me think "evil", silly and irrational of me, I know.

Daniel and Mary on the other hand are both lovely classical names.

The only Nina I know is my cousin. She's 25 with a first from Cambridge and cheekbones you could grate cheese on.

Daniel and Mary. I love both. If I'd had a son, he was to be Daniel and I went with Audrey in the end but wished I'd gone for Mary because she has two other Audreys at school! Xx

Daniel. Levi is awful.
I can't decide between Harper and Mary. I like the vibe of Mary but don't really like the sound, whereas. I like the sound of Harper but not the vibe.
Forced to choose I think I'd say Mary. Its quite different and refreshing now and I think Harper is having a bit of a moment.

I’m surprised by all the Levi hate! It’s a biblical name, hardly that out there. Then again I’m not British and don’t get the “chavvy” association. You lot are very harsh with anyone who steps out of very proscribed lines, huh.

Harper Beckham - Again no sorry.

Daniel and Mary are very nice though.

Of all the names on your list I like Daniel & Leah best.

Levi Roots comes to mind first for me; a much nicer association! Levi just sounds OT Biblical to me, like Caleb or Benjamin.
