Twin baby names - Equinox and Solstice?

Hi, I’m having twins in December around the solstice and I love the changing seasons.
We’ve been thinking of naming them Solstice and Equinox, what do you all think? Too out there? Any other suggestions?

Fake news

Hahah do the maths back from December...

I also think this is not a great idea. Have you thought about using part of the names you've chosen to name you babies? I can't think of any examples I'm afraid. An alternative would be season inspired names like Alaska and Aspen?

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/09/2020 23:50

How about Yule and Log?

Yeah, that's really something a kid wants to be named after.

Ok everyone thank you for the helpful replies - it’s amazing how quickly everyone came up with some actually quite biting responses!! But thank you for giving me the wake up call.

I’ve now reconsidered and think I’m going to name them Meg and Ella after my two other favourite things, nutmeg and Nutella. Peace and love to you all, especially everyone who assumed I was in school or having cats - if I do I think I will use these names, but I don’t want to damage any unsuspecting with embarrassing or anti-Pagan names. I do like Neptune and Jupiter though so if they end up boys, you know what they’ll be called!! Also for the record I’m not sure I’d go for October, but a cheeky Toby might be nice.

Awful.
Please don’t have matching names for twins. I have worked with children with similar names. Children comment and staff often comment. Twins are separate people and deserve their own name not one that sounds like their brother or sister.

I once knew a Holly and Ivy born near Christmas. I kid you not!

Quinn & Sol? Otherwise, no!!

Defenbaker · 30/09/2020 00:20

So, your favourite things are nutty... that figures. Good job your fave foods aren't crackers and coleslaw.

seasonstweetings · 30/09/2020 00:28

Haha Curtis and Cole, there’s my boys’ names

OP posts:
CaviarAndCigarettes · 30/09/2020 00:38

Please do not do this to your children

Rubybluesy · 30/09/2020 00:39

Awful!

greenteafiend · 30/09/2020 01:24

Meg and Ella are fine.

Please remember, for future reference, that twins are people, not matching china dog type ornaments or a comedy double act etc.

remainin · 30/09/2020 01:38

🤣🤣🤣

After reading this through this is hands down a troll

I think that Quinn and Solly would be lovely actually, but not the full version.

Blezz · 30/09/2020 03:38

My favourites are Donkey and Log from the suggestions so far.

1forAll74 · 30/09/2020 04:07

NOOOO... maybe Santa and Elf if near Christmas, but equally silly.!

ItalianHat · 30/09/2020 04:18

This has to be a joke. Such egotism, lumbering innocent children with non-names

custardbear · 30/09/2020 04:30

Quinn and Dolly (D from December and ol from solstice?)

EmmaGrundyForPM · 30/09/2020 04:38

I think with the OPs update re Nutmeg and Nutella we can safely assume Troll.

Liddell · 30/09/2020 05:03

Sounds like names for cruise ships.
