Twin baby names - Equinox and Solstice?

Hi, I’m having twins in December around the solstice and I love the changing seasons.
We’ve been thinking of naming them Solstice and Equinox, what do you all think? Too out there? Any other suggestions?

Horrendous.

BikeRunSki · 30/09/2020 06:29

@ZoyaTheDestroyer

They don’t make sense as a pair. The equinox and the solstice are always three months apart.
That’s what I was going to say.
Mummyoflittledragon · 30/09/2020 06:34

Actually what about:

Zoya and Toyah
Zola and Ebola
Bill and Ben
Cheech and Chong

😬

Op hasn’t been back. Didn’t even tell us the sex... sounds a bit like a wind up.

If you must have linked names for twins, surely you can do better than that...

Null and Void
Sick and Tired
Spit and Polish
Twist and Shout

Halfwreckedbykids · 30/09/2020 07:10

Lol i love knight and day...reminds me of the Australian comedy "hello Kath Day knight heree"
I ve twins myself. The MOST important think is to name them individual names not matchy.
They are not a package they are different people and will have different lives...

giletrouge · 30/09/2020 07:14

I think Uranus and Black Hole...

BikeRunSki · 30/09/2020 07:22

Winter and Sage if you want babes connected to the winter equinox?

BikeRunSki · 30/09/2020 07:22

*names, not babes!

custardbear · 30/09/2020 08:16

How about Trolley and Dolly then 😆

CaptainMyCaptain · 30/09/2020 08:16

No.

Sassanacs · 30/09/2020 08:24

Are you a kardashian? Seriously that's too much... what about Autumn and Summer if you are particularly into seasonal changes

Quite popular in America so potentially more widely accepted. No different to naming a child after a flower e.g Rose or Poppy etc

Candleabra · 30/09/2020 08:34

Oh...I actually quite like the names, especially the nicknames. But I'd say they have to go on the "wasn't brave enough to use" list. I like autumn and summer (though shouldn't it be autumn and spring really?!)

Greenteandchives · 30/09/2020 08:35

Liddell they are indeed cruise ships. Celebrity Cruises have ships named Equinox and Solstice.

Ha Ha! They beat me to it!
MikeUniformMike · 30/09/2020 10:19

Holly and Ivy.
Noel and Nicholas
Nicholas and Stephen.
Joseph and Mary.
Carol and Gabriel

Blake Midwinter and Winter Solstice.

spiderlight · 30/09/2020 12:24

A friend's baby, born on the solstice, has 'Sol' as a middle name. Mine was born on the equinox but I wouldn't have saddled him with it as a name. If he'd been a girl I might have added 'Ostara' as a middle name, but 'Equinox' as an actual name is a bit much.

Kay00 · 30/09/2020 15:42

how about:

Luna
Ariel
Celeste
Aurora
Pandora
Lyra

?

caringcarer · 30/09/2020 16:05

They are not children's names though.

londonscalling · 01/10/2020 20:43

Sorry but they sound really tacky!

Mamascoven · 01/10/2020 21:06

There is some lovely seasonal names OP
Some suggestions for you -
Sage, Winter, Luna, Willow, River, Aurelia, Olive, Raven

UserABCDE12345 · 04/10/2020 01:46

Bridge and Troll would be a good shout.

DoctorTwo · 04/10/2020 02:48

Call them both Balonz.

DontFadeAway · 04/10/2020 08:34

I worked in a primary school with a boy called Solstice, he did get teased about his name.

MimiDaisy11 · 04/10/2020 15:12

You can do matchy names without being so obvious. I know twins called Celeste and Aurora. I thought those were nice without being too much. If you want seasonal names you could do something like Holly and Summer - maybe not those but you get the idea.

FizzyGreenWater · 04/10/2020 15:55

Great as middle names

Sophie Solstice and Emma Equinox
