Hi, I’m having twins in December around the solstice and I love the changing seasons.
We’ve been thinking of naming them Solstice and Equinox, what do you all think? Too out there? Any other suggestions?

My thoughts too doodlejump

DeRigueurMortis · 29/09/2020 22:14

Too out there?

Yes- like well beyond the solar system....

Please don't give you ideas to name them Jupiter and Neptune...

TimeStoleMyYouth · 29/09/2020 22:14

How about Knight and Day?

DimidDavilby · 29/09/2020 22:14

Ah ye? Right.

shivermetimbers77 · 29/09/2020 22:17

No, I’m sorry, it sounds like a parody, like something out of ‘Absolutely Fabulous’. If you like the seasons then how about the names June, Summer or Autumn?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 29/09/2020 22:21

I quite like the names individually, but not as a pair.

Winter is nice but not too 'out there'.

Heronwatcher · 29/09/2020 22:22

Seriously can you imagine calling them over in the playground? One of the names is bad enough but ye gods both together! Seriously OP there are some lovely nature/ seasonal names to choose from- Autumn, Willow, Hazel, River, Ivy, Rosemary, Robin etc, which don’t sound like special edition my little ponies.

SlopesOff · 29/09/2020 22:24

Thank you for this, I have had a really shit day and needed a laugh.

FriendofDorothy · 29/09/2020 22:25

Proper wanky names.

LorW · 29/09/2020 22:27

Another pagan here and I would say no 😬 sorry.

NO

SageRosemary · 29/09/2020 22:33

Noel and Noelle
Declan and Dectere
Santa and Claws (we are talking cats here?)
Luna and Looney

Hope you are having a lovely day off school.

Mummyoflittledragon · 29/09/2020 22:36

Does you remember the Tune to the scientific TV programme Equinox? I’d be in creases....

clairethewitch70 · 29/09/2020 22:36

What about Mabon & Litha ? Grin

ladykuga · 29/09/2020 22:36

Consider that your children will eventually go to school. Saddled with those words as names is not going to do them any favours.

BaronessBomburst · 29/09/2020 22:36

Marmalade and Chutney if they're orange tabbies.

Sounds like credit reference agencies. Please don’t.

Fairybatman · 29/09/2020 22:41

You could call then in together by shouting sox Grin

Antimacassar · 29/09/2020 22:41

I thought they sounded like more fragrances of Lynx aftershave.
Trixie18 · 29/09/2020 22:42

Please don't give your children these names Hmm

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 29/09/2020 22:43

They don’t make sense as a pair. The equinox and the solstice are always three months apart.

springiscoming12 · 29/09/2020 22:43

Wtf
