I prefer Maeve

missyB1 · 11/09/2020 14:55

Maeve 100%

giletrouge · 11/09/2020 14:56

Maeve

emmathedilemma · 11/09/2020 15:18

Meave, much classier although it does seem to be increasingly popular.

emmathedilemma · 11/09/2020 15:18

Maeve even....can't spell today!!

Keepyourconversationsboring · 11/09/2020 15:20

Maeve is lovely Smile

Readandwalk · 11/09/2020 15:21

Maeve. Beautiful name.

bigknickersbigknockers · 11/09/2020 15:21

Maeve

missmouse101 · 11/09/2020 15:28

Maeve is just awful. It is a geriatric name like Enid, or Ethel and I can't understand the adoration for it. Sienna is lovely.

chooseausername · 11/09/2020 15:30

I'm going to go against the grain and say Sienna. I think it sounds nicer and I feel like it has more personality.

Maeve always looks like a strange spelling, sounds a bit dull and frumpy and I just see "ma Eve" like "ma Julie" on Ali G!

formerbabe · 11/09/2020 15:31

Sienna

I think it's a beautiful name although I know it's not especially popular on these boards

ButterflyBitch · 11/09/2020 15:33

Maeve, sienna is nice but prefer Maeve.

Flappingflamingo · 11/09/2020 17:10

100% maeve, I love this name so much, its on my list for my non existant, never gonna happen 4th child who would obviously be a girl.
Really don't like sienna sorry

AngelaScandal · 11/09/2020 17:13

@missmouse101 Maeve is not a geriatric name Hmm. It’s a very popular Irish name.

@chooseausername that ‘strange’ spelling would be spelling patterns from the Irish language. Hope that enlightens.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/09/2020 17:46

Sienna.

You must be like me and like names of all styles. Maeve and Sienna are worlds apart from each other.

SantaMonicaPier · 11/09/2020 17:48

Like them both, prefer Sienna

Changedname81 · 11/09/2020 17:49

Agree with baby spider - I love both

Which goes better with surname and what is middle name likely to be (if any) Smile

Firebird83 · 11/09/2020 17:51

They have a very different vibe to me. Maeve is much nicer.

MikeUniformMike · 11/09/2020 18:05

Not keen on either. Sienna is the better of the two.

Enid, pronounced the welsh way is nice.,

Maeve IMO is popular because May and Eve are so popular, is sort of disappears into all the May, Mae, Maya, Mia and Eva Evie Ava type names.

steppemum · 11/09/2020 18:09

Blimey, I think Maeve is AWFUL. Horrible old ladies name, that I can't hear without a horrible accent on it.
I think it looks ugly on the page too.

Sienna - nice, not my favourite name, but nice.

steppemum · 11/09/2020 18:09

How do you pronounce it the Welsh way?
Kote · 11/09/2020 18:10

Sienna

Roselilly36 · 11/09/2020 18:13

They are polar opposites, but out of the two, Sienna. Not keen on Maeve, no idea why though. If you are undecided perhaps go through the name books or online again.

LesLavandes · 11/09/2020 18:15

Have you considered- Siena? (After the city). It is my daughter's name. She is 25. Her name was not popular at all then. And the spelling even now is not common

MikeUniformMike · 11/09/2020 18:15

@steppemum, it's a very old welsh name, and pronounced ENN-id
