How many Graces do you know?

Following on from a precious thread this morning - I am swaying towards Grace to be known as Gracie. I originally really didn’t want an overused name but I think Grace is used much more in the middle then as a first name?

How many do you know? How old? Do any have Gracie as their BC name?

Thank you for your help...it sure is tough naming a human.

I don't know any

Don't forget that the numbers of Grace's have been falling each and every year since 2006. It'll be even lower down the charts by the time the 2020 stats are released.

Most Grace's now will be 15 years old.
It could be less popular than Aurelia by the time the 2020 stats come out!

I know 3 Grace's, age 60, 45 and 25, none are called Gracie. I know of a couple of small children called Ellie-Grace and Millie-Grace though.

DramaAlpaca · 06/08/2020 15:30

Two, both early 20s. Both known as Grace, never Gracie.

Henlie · 06/08/2020 15:31

I know five people with the first name Grace. Two are 26, two are around 16 and then the last is 5 years old.

A few of them get called Gracie.

luckymagnoliatree · 06/08/2020 15:33

I don't know anyone called grace. I think it's a lovely name 🙂

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 06/08/2020 15:34

Quite a few but would all have been born around 2005/2006. Dd was born in 2006 and has at least 8 in her school year. She also knows two others at other schools/guides.
I know 2 that are 4 years older as they are ds2’s school year.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 06/08/2020 15:35

Oh and next doors niece is Grace. She must be 9/10.

Pretty name. But much prefer Grace to Gracie.

tiredanddangerous · 06/08/2020 15:35
  1. 3 age 10, 2 age 12, 1 age 14 and 1 in her late 40s.
NameChange84 · 06/08/2020 15:37

One who will be about 25 (I taught her a while back) and another that is about 8 or 9 (a colleague’s daughter). Definitely prefer Grace to Gracie.

Pinkflipflop85 · 06/08/2020 15:41

I taught 2 in the same class in 2015 (aged 6).

Son has a grace in his class.

bedjolly · 06/08/2020 15:46

I know 2 Grace/Gracies. My sister is called Grace and she's 23. My friends little sister is called Gracie and she's probably around 13/14 by now. I think Gracie is a lovely name.

TheDuchessOfAquitaine · 06/08/2020 15:49

I know 2 age 5 and 6. The 6 year old is known as Gracie and the 5 year old Grace. It’s a nice name!

Lyricallie · 06/08/2020 15:51

One in my family and she's about 5. Mum's cousin's children so not immediate family. I think it's a cute name and would definitely be on a potential list I have in the future.

AntiAuntieAnty · 06/08/2020 15:52

I know 5 altogether. Ranging in age from 3 to 35.

It is popular, but it's also timeless imo. Flash in the pan names date horribly. Grace is a name which could easily belong to a pensioner or a baby.

I would go for it.

Springersrock · 06/08/2020 15:58

I’ve got one, plus I know of a few others.

Mine is 15, the others are much younger.

We didn’t know any others when we named her, and only came across the others when she went to school - they’re all a good few years younger than her, there are no other Graces in her year at school.

She’d kill you if you called her Gracie

maddy68 · 06/08/2020 15:58

I know 1

Wheresthebiffer2 · 06/08/2020 16:00

Two, one aged 16yrs, the other aged 70plus.

Friolero · 06/08/2020 16:00

My 7yo has a Grace and a Gracie in his class. As well as those two I know a couple of older Graces, one is 12 and one about 20.

Grufallosfriends · 06/08/2020 16:27

I know one Grace. Grace is beautiful but I'm not keen on Gracy. It takes away the beauty imo.

Grufallosfriends · 06/08/2020 16:28

Gracie sounds like Stacie. I much prey just Grace!

TokyoSushi · 06/08/2020 16:29

2 x first names, literally a gazillion middle names!

tempnamechange98765 · 06/08/2020 16:30

I can think of four, one who is in her 20's, two who are 4 or 5 (in DC's class) and another one who's a baby.

It's a lovely name, you can't go wrong, it's a classic like Emily, Isobel, etc. When my DFriend announced it as her baby's name I did think it was a bit...dull? But I think mainly because she took weeks to name her so I was expecting it to be something less traditional.

BiBabbles · 06/08/2020 16:36

Several, most are 12-14 with a few older. It along with Scarlett is one of the most popular names in my 13 year old's year. I'm not sure what's on their birth certificates.

I do know one woman whose name is Graciana which I think could be a great lesser used alternative to Grace.

ItWorriesMeThisKindofThing · 06/08/2020 16:39

Three. They are aged 10, 11 and 15.

Butwhhhyyyyyyy · 06/08/2020 16:40

Mine, she is 15 her nickname is Gracie, I know there are 2 others in her year at school but no others.
