Is it too much?!?

I love the name Piper, but our last name is Parkin.
Is Piper Parkin too much? Thinking it’s too many P’s? It will be broken up with a middle name but it won’t be double barrled!

Too much, I think.

Teacaketotty · 26/06/2020 22:16

Yes sorry it’s too much - I’ve had to discard one of my favourite names also as it just doesn’t work with our surname!

Sooooobored · 26/06/2020 22:16

Yes too hard to say.

DramaAlpaca · 26/06/2020 22:17

It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

It reminds me of the old tongue twister, 'Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper'.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/06/2020 22:17

Like Peter piper picked a pepper....too much.

Merename · 26/06/2020 22:17

Oh yes, too much!

Hiphopopotamus · 26/06/2020 22:18

I actually love it - sounds like a kick ass comic book character

Beetlebum1981 · 26/06/2020 22:20

I'm with @Hiphopopotamus, is a great name!

Megan2018 · 26/06/2020 22:21

I like alliteration with names so it’s a yes from me Smile
My DD first name and surname are F’s.
DH works in broadcasting and he wanted DD to have a name that works for radio Grin

Harpischord · 26/06/2020 22:21

Pinched a peck of pickled pepper ?

CherryPavlova · 26/06/2020 22:22

I’m thinking of pecks of pickled peppers. Sorry.

TheVanguardSix · 26/06/2020 22:22

I love it! I think it sounds great.

Oliviajay · 26/06/2020 22:23

I’m definitely not shocked in people’s responses to no, but I just love it so much!😂 I wanted to break it up with a middle name like Ivy, so her initials and P.I.P and her nickname would be pip! Or pippa!
Maybe still a no from some though haha

To go against the grain I think adorable

I love alliterative names

emptyplinth · 26/06/2020 22:24

It's a bit much. Boy or girl?

happytoday73 · 26/06/2020 22:25

Hmmm.. Which will be shortened to PP... As in PeePee aka urination at school... Please dont

Oliviajay · 26/06/2020 22:25

A girl :)

Tillygetsit · 26/06/2020 22:26

Ivy Parkin sounds better.

MondeoFan · 26/06/2020 22:26

It kinda works and kinda doesn't. I love Piper too, are you a OITNB fan?

daisypond · 26/06/2020 22:27

It’s not the alliteration at the start that’s the problem, it’s the repeating P in the middle that gives the whole name a triple hit. Posy Parkin would be fine. You could look at other names with repeating sounds, just not with a P, if you like that. Nina or Dido, for example.

Oliviajay · 26/06/2020 22:27

@MondeoFan I do love OITNB but had this name for years prior! Even before I met my partner so got no choice with the last name really haha

@daisypond I love Posy! That’s a great name 👀

Too much IMO. I loved xander as a name but the surname would have made them xander Anderson which would have been too much

Queenoftheashes · 26/06/2020 22:29

I like it. It’s cool.

MondeoFan · 26/06/2020 22:29

Oliviajay

I see haha do you like it when it's written down on paper? Have you tried saying it out loud yourself
