Anne is nice but I agree it's quite dated. I love Annie and Anna, they're classic and timeless. I like Anya too

Anna, then use the other two as shortened versions.

Anna - classic,timeless and also familiar in many other countries should she turn out to be a globetrotter!

Not in the least. Not everything has to be triggering. Bizarre that you think it should be?

My sister is an Anna. She sometimes get the nickname of Spanner, but never Annie.
