Hi all!

I posted the other day asking opinions on the name Sebastian James Livingstone. We still like this name, however OH is now doubting it as he thinks it could be too long. I also know of a few Sebastian's born over the last few years...

So, what do you think of our other option:

Austin James Livingstone

(not an option to change middle name as it has huge sentimental family value)

Which do you prefer?

Sebastian Livingstone
Or
Austin Livingstone

Thank you! x

Much prefer Sebastian. It's a nicer name and it goes better with surname. Austin Livingstone is hard to say, too many S-T-N sounds.

Papergirl1968 · 23/05/2020 12:01

Sebastian is lovely so long as you’re happy with it being shortened to Seb. No one ever says their full name anyway apart from in their marriage vows!

OnABeachSomewhere · 23/05/2020 12:03

I don't see any problem with Sebastian, although personally I prefer Austin.

Dyra · 23/05/2020 12:04

I like both names, but I prefer Sebastian.

I don't think the name is too long at all. The full name fits into a 30 character limit box with room for spacing. And it's not often he'd need to write his full name anyway.

WreckTangle95 · 23/05/2020 12:04

I prefer Sebastian :)

LotusClover · 23/05/2020 12:05

Austin is much nicer. I've always found Sebastian posh and pretentious. Austin James Livingstone has a nice flow to it.

AvoidingTheWineAisle · 23/05/2020 12:07

Sebastian is lovely and I don’t think the whole name is too long. Flows nicely.

RedRec · 23/05/2020 12:12

Love both of the names. And they both go very well with the middle name and surname.

BeMorePacific · 23/05/2020 12:18

Both are great, lovely sounding names. x

IgnoranceIsStrength · 23/05/2020 12:21

Totally outing but those are the names of my two DC. So they are both amazing names

Whatsyourflava · 23/05/2020 12:24

Love love love both. Slight preference for Austin

Spirali · 23/05/2020 12:37

Much prefer Sebastian. Austin is okay but it’s nowhere near as nice!

Blursula · 23/05/2020 12:38

Love both, slightly prefer Austin. Although technically it would be longer than Sebastian as surely Sebastian will get shortened to Seb?

LockdownLoon · 23/05/2020 12:41

@IgnoranceIsStrength how funny!! You have great taste! 😘

Sebastian James Livingstone is just such a brilliant name - don’t get cold feet! Austin is a lovely name too, but it doesn’t have quite the same oomph with the surname.

Millicent10 · 23/05/2020 16:19

I prefer Sebastian, Austin just reminds me of the crap old car but then I am ancient! James is also a great name.

Dollywilde · 23/05/2020 16:20

Sebastian Livingstone is a brilliant name, please go for it!

Dollywilde · 23/05/2020 16:20

@Millicent10 if it makes you feel better it makes me think of the car and I’m 31!

CatsAreLikeChocolates · 23/05/2020 16:22

Sebastian 100%

Go for it!

ittybittylivingspace · 23/05/2020 16:31

Definitely Sebastian! I like both names tho

LiviLoggs · 23/05/2020 16:35

I love Sebastian, it flows well with James however for some reason when I hear Austin James, I only seem to think of Jane Austen! I think they are both lovely names though. I don't know any Sebstians but I know a young Austin who goes by Aussie.

TheThingWithFeathers · 23/05/2020 16:37

Sebastian is much nicer than Austin. I don't think the name is too long at all.

LockdownLoon · 23/05/2020 18:24

@Dollywilde thank you! We just can't make up our minds!x

Prefer Sebastian definitely.
