Really open to suggestions and everyone's comments on them

Harper- fine, bit celebrity perhaps due to Harper Beckham

Ocean- fine but definitely of a type. Hippy nature sort

Lilac- I like it, it’s close enough to the Lily family of names not to be too odd

Astor- ok I prefer Aster

Scout- nice but getting popular

Blaze- personally don’t like and I’d spell it Blaise.

Greer- very American and not a fan

Indigo- was on my list, I like it but it definitely conveys a certain image. Hard name to wear for the fat shy kid for example

Bali- no, unless you conceived there in which case definitely no

Fallon- it’s ok

Holland- not a fan but it’s ok

Tatum- quite like

Ace- ok but I think of it as a boys name

Brighton- if you’re in the US maybe.

Lumen- never, terrible

Teal- I met a lovely baby named Teal with Down syndrome once. Quite a cute name

Halston- not a fan

Collins- ok, very American but what would you shorten it to

Gage - personally I think it’s a boys name but it’s just about ok

WhatOnFuckingEarth · 22/05/2020 23:23

From your list I like Indigo and Ocean, but isn’t Lumen a dating website for over 50s (just a quick thought). Judging by the names you like what about: Raine, River, Gaia, Alba, Blanca, May and Cassie?

BubblesBuddy · 22/05/2020 23:28

Greer is Scottish in origin.

Carouselfish · 23/05/2020 00:30

Very American high school sounding op. Are you Americnan or just influenced by the culture? I like Tatum and Scout, because I'm familiar with them and they sound quite attitudey.

I have a relative in US who's just calle d their daughter Kensington FFS. A verb and a town in one And I know Sloane is all the the rage there too (hideous. Slow moan). So comparitvely, your list isn't too out there.

CaptainBlunderpants · 23/05/2020 07:45

Lumen is a word used a lot medically so would certainly get some raised eyebrows laughed at if your child ever came to hospital.

Strugglingtodomybest · 23/05/2020 08:04

Collins is awful, reminds me of school when everyone referred to each other by their surnames.

"You boy! Collins! What do you think you're doing?"

I can hear this now in a strong Welsh accent Grin

I quite like Harper and Scout, and Blaze if it's spelt Blaise, otherwise I think of a horse.

NaturalCleaningParticles · 23/05/2020 08:14

Harper is ok.
Ocean is just about passable, likewise Scout.

Why do people pick these kind of names? So everyone knows how incredibly unique and special they are? Hmm Imagine having to introduce yourself as Collins!

BruceWilllis · 23/05/2020 09:03

Harper
Scout
Fallon

Spirali · 23/05/2020 09:09

Do you follow the Fisher family? I’m guessing this based on Tatum (I prefer Taytum) and Halston.
How about Story? It’s one of my favourite names think you might like that based on your list. My favourites from your list are

Ocean, Lilac (Lila is a cute nn for this) and Indigo.

LemonChiffon · 23/05/2020 09:09

Collins is actually a name in the US. I can't get my head around it but apparently it is actually a girl's first name. I just think of Mr Collins from Pride and Prejudice!

Of your list, Lilac and Indigo are my favourite.

Spirali · 23/05/2020 09:11

Oooh it could be that. Or maybe just maybe people choose names because they love them? That’s a wild idea hey?!

Sunshineandflipflops · 23/05/2020 09:14

I think they’re all awful.

Singingatmidnight · 23/05/2020 09:15

Aster, like the flower, is nice. It means "star".

SneakersandSocks · 23/05/2020 09:16

Indigo and Lilac are lovely - I don’t like any of the others.

Lampan · 23/05/2020 09:27

Have you been to Bali OP? If not I’d cross that one off your list. It’s a cool place but to some people will conjure up images of tourists on mopeds and widespread building work.

sunflowersandtulips50 · 23/05/2020 09:33

Sounds like a list of dogs names....

cliffdiver · 23/05/2020 09:35

Harper would have been the best choice, had the Beckhams not used it.

HotSince82 · 23/05/2020 09:39

Lilac, Greer, Ocean and Indigo are quite nice.
Lilac is probably my favourite out of those.

Threeoleary · 23/05/2020 09:42

Reminds me of word association games

Harper - Lee Collins
Ocean - deep
Lilac - wine
Astor - races
Scout - tonto
Blaze - horse
Greer - Garson
Indigo - blue
Bali - Hai
Fallon - Archers
Holland - Dutch
Tatum - O’Neill
Ace - Ventura
Brighton - rock
Lumen - lightbulb
Teal - Duck
Halston- Jean
Collins- Dictionary
Gage - Green

lucindalovescats · 23/05/2020 10:06

Lilac and indigo are nice.

Twooter · 23/05/2020 10:10

Surely Dynasty is the word association from Fallon?

GinWithRosie · 23/05/2020 10:17

Very....American? 🤷‍♀️

BelievinForAMiracle · 23/05/2020 10:37

Harper is a lovely name. Harper Lee - writer of one of the best novels of all time.

whatausername · 23/05/2020 11:04

@Threeoleary 😂😂

babynamelover · 23/05/2020 11:10

Greer and Indigo are okay 😊. You have very different name taste to me but if we all liked the same ones it would be pretty boring.
