Has anyone used it? Would it be better as just Tigerlily or Tiger as a first and Lily as a middle. I've recently fallen for this name but I don't know if I'm brave enough to use it. Haven't even mentioned it to DH as I'm still trying to decide how I feel about it.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NuffSaidSam · 17/05/2020 21:26

Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates used it. And a range of companies. There's a Tigerlily first aid training for example.

I think Tigerlily is better than Tiger Lily.

Nixen · 17/05/2020 21:28

I met one at a baby group once and felt so sorry for the little girl. Might be cute on a 2 year old but not so much on a grown woman. It’s hard enough to be taken seriously in business as a woman without such a whimsical name

Orphlids · 17/05/2020 21:30

I think it’s SMASHING! I met one once, years ago. She was a very well-to-do young lady, educated, interesting and down to earth. She and her name have always stayed with me. I prefer Tigerlily, as one word.

Cosyblanky · 17/05/2020 21:30

Why would you? It's a bit yawn isn't it?

SionnachRua · 17/05/2020 21:31

If you want to be 'brave', change your own name to it. Don't lumber someone else with it.

KindnessCrusader · 17/05/2020 21:35

I like it! I'd use Tigerlily rather than Tiger Lily.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 17/05/2020 21:37

Don’t be ridiculous! As a PP said, if you want to be yoonique, change your own name!

bigchris · 17/05/2020 21:38

It's awful

bigchris · 17/05/2020 21:38

Or buy a cat and call it that

timetest · 17/05/2020 21:44

No.

LotusClover · 17/05/2020 22:20

Just no. It's dreadful. Lily on its own is fine, but Tigerlily/Tiger Lily is chavvy, try-hard and pretentious.

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 17/05/2020 22:22

Yeah great idea, sure she will love it when she's an adult 🤦

wildthingsinthenight · 17/05/2020 22:23

Love it

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2020 22:24

It is the name of my favourite album ever. It’s gorgeous. I’m not sure it’s a person name though.

KitchenConfidential · 17/05/2020 22:26

Only if you’re a character in Peter Pan

sawyersfishbiscuits · 17/05/2020 22:32

I have a cat called Tigerlily. She's about 16 and is beautiful! I do actually like the name for a child I think, and there are far far worse names out there... if I had to choose between say Courtney and Tigerlily then it would be Tigerlily hands down.
However, it's a bit out there. It's cute though.

MarylandMayhem · 17/05/2020 22:38

How about Zana? It means lilly/graceful lilly.

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 17/05/2020 22:41

Why would you call a child tiger lily?

Finnemoo · 17/05/2020 22:43

I actually like it but I wouldn’t dare use it. And I don’t think I’d like to be called it either, sorry!

How about Primrose?

LaurieFairyCake · 17/05/2020 22:47

Horrific

Wouldn't call a cat that

myrtleWilson · 17/05/2020 22:50

Great track by Luna but bit hard to actually pull off in real life

BackforGood · 17/05/2020 22:50

Ridiculous. Why would you do that to a person ?

If you want to be 'brave', change your own name to it. Don't lumber someone else with it.

This ^

macdhui · 17/05/2020 22:52

I love it but definitely Tigerlily

Felicitycity · 17/05/2020 22:53

mrwalkensir · 17/05/2020 22:55
