My wife has posted a couple of lists of ours on here. I'm here to put forward my favourite name, which she isn't keen on, to see what responses it gets. Maybe I can get it back on our boys list?!

Very old-worldly. But I like Wilf better.

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 12/05/2020 14:21

Love it!

Hoppinggreen · 12/05/2020 14:21

i feel like I shouldnt like it but I actually do

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 12/05/2020 14:21

But I like Ragnar too...

MikeUniformMike · 12/05/2020 14:23

Go for it.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 12/05/2020 14:28

I want to hate it, but actually it's great. He can be Wulf or Rick depending on what sort of career options he goes for. Give him a very bland middle name and promise not to be upset if he gets to teen years and insists on using his middle name. (I do know a few people who did that with more outlandish first names)

Looks like I'm out of the dog house with these replies

I love it! I love these old names like Wulfric and Alaric (king of the Visigoths). Aelred is another one I love. Theodoric. Thored.

Not keen either, you should choose a name you both like.

Claphands · 12/05/2020 14:34

I like it too!

TheVanguardSix · 12/05/2020 14:36

What names do you both like?

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 12/05/2020 14:37

Me too Vanguard they are so Last Kindom-y Grin How cool to be a young man called Wulfruc. He would have to have long blonde hair though.

MarieQueenofScots · 12/05/2020 14:37

Fabulous, however if she isn’t keen on it then it isn’t an option.

What names do you both like?

Grufallosfriends · 12/05/2020 14:37

Love it!

IfNotNowThenWhenever · 12/05/2020 14:37

You mean the Wolf House OP

BaronessBomburst · 12/05/2020 14:37

I love it!
But then again I have an Alaric.
I like Wilric too.

Imthehusband · 12/05/2020 14:39

She's not keen but I'm trying to win her over. She prefers classic names that are known but not popular

Love it!

Does a name come any better than Wulfric?! It is sensational. I saw it mentioned on here a few weeks ago, mentioned it to DP, and it immediately became our favourite. However, our surname ends in an ‘ic’ sound, and we have since discovered baby is a girl, so sadly, we can’t use it. Other names on our list were Uther (King Arthur’s more exciting and charismatic father), and Rollo. DP liked Ragnar too.

zurigirl · 12/05/2020 16:29

I love it! Grin

Then again, I'm into names like Elric and Atlas...

I think my partner and I are going to struggle to agree on a name if we ever have kids as he prefers more "normal" names. Sad

Ellmau · 12/05/2020 16:40

I like it.

Pelleas · 12/05/2020 16:43

Love it. I don't have children but this has been on my possible pet-name list for years.
