Violet or Vivienne?

My partner and I cannot agree on a baby name!

Vivienne Lila (his choice)
or
Violet Ava (my choice)

Please help us decide!

Vivien - spelled that way. Vivienne is a silly spelling in the U.K.
Not keen on Violet - it’s an invasive weed.

Vivienne! Such a beautiful name! I prefer it spelled like this, the Vivien spelling just doesn't look as nice to me.

Violet! And with Ava it sounds really unique and pretty as a name.
Vivienne is a bit on the frumpy side IMO.

@MishkaM I’m not keen on Violet as it’s one letter away from violent and that’s my immediate thought. That may just be me though 😂. Vivienne lovely as are both middle names .

@MishkaM actually I think Vivienne Lila would work better than Vivienne Ava just to avoid repetition of the V sound xx

Definitely violet- it's so beautiful!!
Vivienne is ok but the 2 adult Vivienne's I know have had name shortened to Viv which they don't like but which they've just had to embrace as everyone does it!

And it's more unusual.

Violet, whilst it's a lovely flower and colour, still seems a bit of a fusty old name to me. And the pronunciation in English is quite harsh, sounding like 'vile' and 'violent'. French Violette much nicer (vee - oh - let). Ava is nice enough but my goodness it's so common at the moment.

My two favourite girl names are Violette and Vivienne Smile

Both can be Vivi for short which is great for a kid and a grown woman!

Prefer Vivienne to Vivien - they are pronounced differently anyway.

I like Vivienne, but agree with PP that it’s quite “frilly”. Not keen on Violet. If you’re looking for something unusual what about Viola?
