Clarification on Jaxson or Max

I should explain where I got "Jaxson" from. My wife's name is Jazmin. Her father named all his children and spelt their names uniquely. I took Max and Jackson and put them together. Sorry. I am able to spell it's just a thing in my wife's family. Max was the name of a Kid from a movie we both watched and loved. Thanks for all the feedback.

That would be a reasonable assumption.

The UK is still a very class bound society and social mobility is slowing down.
Your name shouldn't matter but people will internally make judgements on your name and what it says about you.
That you are young and cool isn't the most likely thought that is going to be had.
Obviously you can name your dc whatever you like but realistically judgements are going to be made.

No, the OP should not ignore us. They came here for people's opinions so that's what they're getting whether they like those opinions or not. The majority of us here agree that Jaxson is an awful spelling of a traditional name, so we're simply pointing that out to prevent OP from giving their child a name which will lead them to a lifetime of it being misspelled and judged.

There are millions of names in the world that you could give your child. Why in God's name would you choose something that makes you look like an illiterate chav.

The name Jaxon is dire enough, I don't even know what to think about that added S. As if you're too thick to know that the' X' means there 's no need for the 'S'.

A parent from my dd's class had a baby earlier in the year. Named it Jax. Every single person I've heard them tell the name to has reacted the same way:

The baby's here! Congratulations! What's the name?

Jax.

Jack?

No, Jax.

Jax? Dax?

Jax.

Oh... Okay... Congratulations!

It was very funny playground listening for about a week and a half. I don't recall a single person complimenting the name.

Why are half of the comments about the UK? I'm from america where we spell our kids names very oddly. "Camila, Alyx, Kamilah, Abbey, Suzana, Davyd, Micaela) welcome to america where we all are illiterate fucks.

For the sake of your child, please, I beg you not to name him Jaxson. He won't thank you for it when he's older. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Jackson, the proper spelling - if nothing else, it's grammatically correct! Like @DianaTrentIsBack said, there are tons of other names to choose from that won't make you look unintelligent and, dare I say it, "chavvy". For the love of God, just pick something else. Max is fine, Jackson is fine. Jaxson is not.

This is a UK site, OP. You are correct, American naming traditions are very different. Are you in America? If so, you could probably call him Carbonite Reduxti Anderpox and it would be fine. If you're in the UK, and will be raising the child in the UK, it might matter to you the reactions you will get to the name.

Presumably it matters to you a bit or you wouldn't have come online to ask in the first place?

If you wanted British opinions on your baby name then this is place to come, if you want American opinions then I'm sure there are plenty of great US based sites. UK and American names are very different, we might share a common language but what goes down in your country is not the same as what goes down well here in the UK.
