Names you’d never use but would love to?

whatausername

I was watching that 2012(?) version of Jesus Christ Superstar they put on YouTube the other week and concluded that Judas was by far the best character and had quite a good point. So, on the basis of a Lloyd Webber musical I’ll say go for it! don’t, obviously!

TheMarzipanDildo · 23/04/2020 17:47

I love Evelyn for a boy. I think I would just use it though.

Would have loved to have had a boy to give him the name Beauregard.

Goostacean · 23/04/2020 19:44

@Standrewsschool I told DH, laying groundwork for DC3 Grin Maybe I’ll get lucky with twins, that would make naming fun!

Alwaysundecided · 23/04/2020 19:56

Aeryn (swoon)
Juniper
Autumn
Peony
Posy

I'm hoping if I one day have a DD that i could convince DH to go for one of these but I highly doubt we would use one.

theotherfossilsister · 24/04/2020 15:30

I also love Manon. It's very common in the country where I spent summers as a kid (you can probably guess which one from this) but not so much here, and DP thinks she would get bullied

35andThriving · 26/04/2020 22:45

Karen
Angela

Clive

LuckyFlash · 28/04/2020 21:54

Kite
Etienne (not French enough)
Snow
Loxley

DH has vetoed all of these but we will probably end up going with one of our ‘brave’ names...

User1775564212 · 29/04/2020 07:53

Sapphire
Cinderella

CeibaTree · 29/04/2020 08:06

I really love the name Clementine, but now it just reminds me of that racist mummy blogger so couldn't use it.
I also love but wouldn't use Hazel (nut) and Cordelia (a bit too pretentious?). For boys I really like Silas and Otis, but couldn't use them as they are the names of close friends' kids.

chunkyrun · 29/04/2020 08:09

Soo many but played it safe. Didn't want to saddle them with a peculiar name

Boys

Roman
Calvin
Lorenzo -were northern and it would sound ridiculous in our accent
Cary - I love this name but my other half has no taste

Girls

Shilo
Cleo
Honor
Olympia

OccasionalNachos · 29/04/2020 08:42

Ariadne. We are not posh enough & it does not work with either of our surnames.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/04/2020 08:50

The Ariadne that I know is a trillion miles from posh, believe me

chunkyrun · 29/04/2020 09:13

I also love Manon. It's very common in the country where I spent summers as a kid (you can probably guess which one from this) but not so much here, and DP thinks she would get bullied

^^ I love this name! Didn't know it was a real name though. Know it from a book series

theotherfossilsister · 29/04/2020 12:45

@chunkyrun yeah, it is a beautiful name, and a few girls had it where I was growing up. I would use it for a girl if DP let me, but he likes more ordinary names, so I would need to fight for it.

Notverybright · 29/04/2020 12:51

Paige
Stella

Elijah
Idris
