Aura was my favourite name as a teen
Sofonisba (name of a great Renaissance artist)
Soraya - it’s so beautiful. I wish my best friend hadn’t said “sounds like psoriasis”.

MartiniDry · 18/04/2020 22:16

Another vote for Lysander. 🙂
Also Myfanwy, Fenella, Dorward, Hadleigh, and Hepzibah (I have no Welsh connections!).

Minerva. Roman God of knowledge. And Professor McGonagall's first name in HP.

Ramses for a boy. A mighty Egyptian king.

BrandoraPaithwaite · 18/04/2020 22:47

Megan. DP vetoed it. I don't even know why I like it, I've taught several Megan/ Meghans and that normally puts me off a name. Quite glad we didn't use it now Megan Markle is so famous I suppose.

i met one once. memorable. shewed great restraint when someone in a training group said it was a strange name. funki replied, well frankly i thought your name, myfanwy was pretty strange actually, but i had more manners than to say so.
