Hi, I've recently found out I'm having triplets; two girls and one boy. DP and I are over the moon, and have been writing baby names. We are currently disagreeing about a few, please express your opinions!

We Agree on:

Pippi
Dodie
Edie
James
Thomas
Alex

DP Likes:

I Like:

Thank you!

Pippi sounds like a dog. Dodie is slang for a dummy /soother.
Are you in England?

Whynosnowyet · 24/01/2020 21:21

Oh
Bloody
And Hell!!

cece636 · 24/01/2020 21:25

I actually agree, I don't really like Pippi. As much as Dodie is slang, I genuinely like the name still.

I love Penelope, James and Thomas. Alexandria maybe?

BilieEyelash · 24/01/2020 21:26

Clementine
Penelope
Persephone
Edie
Thomas
Alex
Elise
Elouise - Spell it Eloïse
Madeline
Josephine

These are nice. The rest aren't. Dodie?!

littlealexhorne · 24/01/2020 22:12

Madeline, Elle & Alex

mogtheexcellent · 24/01/2020 22:22

Some people have clearly not heard of Dodie Smith Grin

It's a proper name and I have never heard it as slang for dummy. I prefer it to clementine. I also like Dulcie which you may not have thought of.

florascotia2 · 24/01/2020 22:25

Dodie Smith's 'real' name was Dorothy. Dodie was a nickname.
I quite like Dorothy.

RoseMartha · 24/01/2020 22:42

From your lists I would short list it to the following:

Clementine
James
Thomas
Alex
Elise
Jennifer
Eloise
Madeline
Josephine
Michael

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/01/2020 22:52

Penelope. Edie and James or Thomas.

TildaTurnip · 24/01/2020 22:53

Thomas and Alex are nice.

bridgetreilly · 24/01/2020 22:57

You have plenty that you agree on, I don't think you need to add more to the list. From the ones you both like, I think these combinations are nice:
Penelope, Dodie and James
Clementine, Edie and Thomas

Elle7rose · 24/01/2020 23:56

Of the names you both agree about, I like:
Penelope, Persephone, James and Thomas. From your list I like Elle.

But I guess you can't use Penelope and Persephone!

I'd maybe pick the name combo James, Persephone and Elle but I don't think they go well together!

Do either of you like the name Elodie? or Hermione/Marnie?

Elle7rose · 24/01/2020 23:57

Or Xanthippe, shortened to Xan? Then you could have a James, Xan and Elle- they go well together as one syllable names.

Isadora2007 · 24/01/2020 23:59

They’re going to stand out as triplets. I dont think that “out there” names are going to do them any favours.
Edie and Alix for girls and Thomas for the boy? Out of your agreed names. Or Elise, Madeline and James as a mixture.

TatianaLarina · 25/01/2020 00:04

Persephone, Clementine (prefer Clemency) & Sebastian.

Mumma4262 · 25/01/2020 09:00

Elise is beautiful.

diddlediddle · 25/01/2020 09:03

Pippi (or Pippa?) is ok but doesn't balance well with the other names. Philippa?

I'd go for Clementine, Penelope and Alexander/James

Good luck 😬

FairfaxAikman · 25/01/2020 09:04

Persephone and Ariadne "go" together but none of your boys names really match them.

You could do Josephine, Jennifer and James - one from each of your lists - and Jenny, Josie and Jamie are cute nicknames.

Gobolino80 · 25/01/2020 09:12

Lark, Linnet and Wren

MrsBertBibby · 25/01/2020 09:56

From your list, I would choose Penelope, Edith (Edie is a nick n but not a name) and Thomas, or Alexander.

Finfintytint · 25/01/2020 09:59

Mary, Mungo And Midge.

Chocolatecake12 · 25/01/2020 10:06

Clementine
Penelope
Alexander

Clemmie
Penny
And Alex as nn

All lovely names which go well together but stand alone as well and are different enough to match their own personalities.

Sleeveen · 25/01/2020 10:07

Groucho, Harpo and Chico.

BakewellGin1 · 25/01/2020 10:10

Elise, Edie and Alex...
