We live in the UK, I really love these name & there middle names (middle names are quite popular) just not sure if they're too weird 🤦

Girl : Saige Matilda
Boy : Quincy Eli

Both sound good with our last name!

I think I prefer Saige spelled Sage.

Quincy is nice. And Q is a cool initial!

Marcipex · 20/01/2020 23:14

I like Quincy.
I don’t dislike Saige but I think she’ll be called Onion. Sorry.

MrsBertBibby · 20/01/2020 23:14

What is the i in Saige for? I wouldn't name a child that, not least to avoid jokes about stuffing.

A quinsy is an abscess on a tonsil. Gross.

SemperIdem · 20/01/2020 23:16

I like Sage but don’t understand why you would spell it Saige?

I know Quincy Jones but for me, it’s an illness (spelt quinsy but pronounced the same way), probably sticks in my mind because I had it once. Very offputting.

Marcipex · 20/01/2020 23:17

Oh I’ve never heard of the toe thing.

CoffeeRunner · 20/01/2020 23:17

I know it’s a different word but Quincy to me is far too similar to the throat abscess (quinsy I think it’s spelt). As someone who’s had 2 in the past it’ll never be anything else.

Sage is fine. But as another PP says, jokes about onions & “stuffing” may come in the teenage years.

Divebar · 20/01/2020 23:17

I like Sage and Mathilda but not together and I like Eli. I hate Quincy sorry

Bluewater1 · 20/01/2020 23:18

I'm sorry, I'm not keen on either of these names. I always ask myself, would I want to be called this name.....?

PantTwizzler · 20/01/2020 23:19

I’ve only met a female Quincy.

Divebar · 20/01/2020 23:19

I thought Quincy sounded like a disease too but wasn’t sure which one “ Bobs off sick at the moment... he’s come down with Quincy Eli.”

moonsmarshmellow · 20/01/2020 23:19

Prefer Eli and Matilda as first names

muddypuddles12 · 20/01/2020 23:21

Why would you spell it Saige and not Sage. Sorry it just looks like you're trying to be "different" when really it's just an unnecessary spelling of a normal word.

TheVanguardSix · 20/01/2020 23:22

Lose the i in Sage.
Both names are ok.

YouOnlyLiveTwice · 20/01/2020 23:26

Ditch the weird spelling and switch the names around...

Matilda Sage
Quentin Eli

WindyMiller1020 · 20/01/2020 23:27

I really like Sage but definitely not with an I.

Dont like Quincy at all if I'm honest

Nojeansplease · 20/01/2020 23:31

Sage is fine
Saige is trying to hard

Quincy as a name is fine, but isn’t it an illness? It would make me think of that

Putthekettleonplease · 20/01/2020 23:39

Attention seeking names.
What’s wrong with normal names?

littlealexhorne · 20/01/2020 23:42

I like Saige but not Quincy

kittykatkitty · 20/01/2020 23:43

I know a sage and Quinn so 🙅🏻‍♀️

DramaAlpaca · 20/01/2020 23:45

Both too out there for me.

Sage if you must, Saige looks like you couldn't decide between Sage & Paige.

Quincy is awful. Sorry.

TheGirlWithAPrince · 20/01/2020 23:55

A boy called quincy is bound to be bullied for it unfortunately.. Sage is OK, sage matilda doesn't match, eli is nice

HopeClearwater · 21/01/2020 00:01

You’re clearly too young to have seen Quincy, MD on the telly, or you wouldn’t be considering it for a moment Grin

Scatterlit · 21/01/2020 00:04

I’m imagining a baby with Quincy Jones’ mean little pencil moustache.

puds11 · 21/01/2020 00:06

Eli does not go with Quince. Spelling of Saige is grim!

Chocmallows · 21/01/2020 00:06

Both make me think of dull ditchwater. Sage colour and Quincy sounds like a disease you get if you drink it.
