We live in the UK, I really love these name & there middle names (middle names are quite popular) just not sure if they're too weird 🤦

Girl : Saige Matilda
Boy : Quincy Eli

Both sound good with our last name!

I like Sage. Not sure about Quincy, it's an odd sound and grates a bit to say.

Namechanger60 · 21/01/2020 08:33

Oh and Seth

Quint rather than Quincey

Till some child notices what happens when you take out the i and change the Q to a C ...

Namechanger60 · 21/01/2020 08:36

@Equanimitas don't worry I'd never use Quint 😂 definitely sounds like c u next Tuesday

Just seen that you have a George and Violet. Saige or Quincy will well and truly have drawn the short straw. How can you contemplate naming George's brother Quincy!

Em308 · 21/01/2020 08:42

Sage is ok, but please spell it properly it just makes you look like an illiterate chav. Matilda and Eli are nice, Quincy is a definite no but Quinn is lovely. HTH.

FancyPants20 · 21/01/2020 08:43

"Sage" means sensible in French. "And this is my other daughter, Sensible..." Grin

FLOrenze · 21/01/2020 08:50

I know a Zaiche. It pronounced similarly to Sage but with the Softer. Z and elongated ‘age’. I think it is lovely, but I am not too keen on the short sharp Sage.

corduroyal · 21/01/2020 08:55

Not keen

Sage is actually quite a masculine herb - it's in loads of aftershaves, give it a smell and you'll recognise it.

I read your boy names as quisinelly, they sort of run together. Imagine being a shy boy announcing yourself as Quincy to a class full of other kids. It's all well and good being different with a baby, but it's got to be a name that serves well all the way through life.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 21/01/2020 08:56

No to both I’m sorry
Do love Quinn though for a girl

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 21/01/2020 09:12

I know a Zaiche

Now I fancy a bit of quiche! Grin

BlouseAndSkirt · 21/01/2020 09:20

Sage is good. Saige is ridiculous.
Matilda: lovely
Quincy: I like it. Quite cool. Quincy Jones engine driver!
Eli also good
But Quincy Eli don’t flow well together, two vowel sounds merging.
Seth is great.

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 21/01/2020 09:41

Dexter and Seth are both great. George and Violet have fabulous names. Eli is great.

As pps posted above, Quincy and Eli run together due to the 'ee' sound.

Ditch Quincy and use Eli! Eli Seth (although sounds a bit like Elisabeth if you say it quickly) or Dexter Eli both sound better than Quincy Eli.

Matilda Sage would be better than Sage Matilda too. Thinking about it more, it sounds like you're clumsily trying to describe Matilda as 'sage'. 'Sage Matilda nodded sagely...'

Poppydaisies · 21/01/2020 09:54

George, Violet and Matilda

George, Violet and Quentin

These are all great names!

Pannalash · 21/01/2020 09:57

Quincy makes me think of ‘Quinsy’ (pus in the throat) 🤢

Urkiddingright · 21/01/2020 11:04

Quincy Jones as everyone else has said, that’s all I think of.

Matilda Sage sounds better.

Kokeshi123 · 21/01/2020 11:36

Sa(i)ge is what I use for seasoning pork chops.

Do you like Saffron, Laurel or Fern? Similar feel but much nicer IMO.

Lebkuchenlovers · 21/01/2020 11:45

I'm not so keen is Sage/Saige but think that Matilda Sage sounds quite nice.

I have a Quentin so much prefer that over Quincy. He often gets called Quinn. Quentin Eli sounds great imo.

Antihop · 21/01/2020 11:55

Mathilda and eli yes. Saige and Quincy no.

faithinnature1 · 21/01/2020 11:55

Sage is either food that conjures up stuffing or a demeanor that is serious. Neither have typically nice associations, a food name should be fresh etc and a mood name happy etc. so I'm not sure what you are looking for from this name. There just be other girls names that are better. Dozens and dozens in fact!

MikeUniformMike · 21/01/2020 11:57

Sounds like you have a food theme. Saige is awful, Sage is better but there are prettier herb names. Paige is quite nice.
Quincy is a bit unusual. Too associated with a TV detective for me.

Whatsyourflava · 21/01/2020 11:58

George and Violet are gorgeous names @Namechanger60 - are you happy with them or do you find them a bit too popular?

I really adore the name Eli - would it be too popular for you?

Dexter and Seth are both really lovely too. Would you consider one of those?

Totally respect that it’s up to you to pick a name. I wish my own name was a bit more unusual sometimes. Please just spell Sage correctly if you choose it though xxx

Rachel345 · 21/01/2020 12:04

I like George and Violet too and agree that Matilda and Quentin would work well:

Matilda Sage
Quentin Eli

Dexter is quite nice too but I don't like Seth at all. It sounds too lispy.
