We live in the UK, I really love these name & there middle names (middle names are quite popular) just not sure if they're too weird 🤦

Girl : Saige Matilda
Boy : Quincy Eli

Both sound good with our last name!

You may think it looks nicer but I think this thread has proven that you are definitely in the minority (and by minority, I mean the only person so far who likes it spelt like that)

TheGinGenie · 21/01/2020 07:54

I also thought of stuffing and quinsy. I'd go Matilda Sage and Quinn

muddypuddles12 · 21/01/2020 08:04

Sorry I was so confused by the spelling of Sage I forgot to mention my pure horror over the name Quincy.

Quincy?!

I feel like I really am picking on you OP but genuinely it's so awful. I beg you not to name your child that.

Although Eli I do like a lot, and we actually considered it as a name for our DS but it was pipped to the post by another.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 21/01/2020 08:04

Quincy/Quinsy/Queasy. All unpleasant connotations and ripe for bullying. Eli is quite a overtly religious name, are you religious for it to "go"?

Agree with - Saige is too try hard. Sage is ok as long as you don't mind the inevitable stuffing jokes she'll get. Can't see how Saige is any more girly than Sage though? And it'll be a lifetime of her having to correct people All. The. Time (I have a name that gets similarly misspelled and it drives me mad, trust me)

Loopyloopy1 · 21/01/2020 08:05

Definitely lose the i in Saige!

Loopyloopy1 · 21/01/2020 08:05

Also like Quinn better than Quincy!

Loopyloopy1 · 21/01/2020 08:08

And agree with another PP that if you like the spelling of Saige, go with Paige?

But Sage or Quinn are more sophisticated versions of your choices!

Puppilangstrumpfi · 21/01/2020 08:08

Agree that Sage is the better spelling. Although I prefer Matilda Sage.

Quentin (Quinn) is lovely and works well with middle name Eli.

Namechanger60 · 21/01/2020 08:09

I don't like Paige 😂

I add the " I " so it looks abit girlier and think it just looks nicer.

The thing is, no-one will know that is how it's spelt unless your unfortunate DD spends her life spelling it out. So you're giving her a name that you admit doesn't look nice without an extra letter which no-one will know is there.

Whatsyourflava · 21/01/2020 08:12

Yes definitely spell Sage correctly if you’re going to use it

I can’t see why you’d deliberately spell it wrong

Do you have any other name ideas

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 21/01/2020 08:12

What about Quinn instead of Quincy?

BaronessBomburst · 21/01/2020 08:12

I read Quinn as Quorn.
I think it's the proximity to Sage. Grin

Sage Mathilda and Mathilda Sage are both lovely, without the random 'i'.

Quentin Eli or Eli Quentin are both equally fabulous, but Quincy is awful.

Poppydaisies · 21/01/2020 08:13

Another vote for Sage and Quentin/Quinn.

CodenameVillanelle · 21/01/2020 08:13

Adding random i's to words doesn't make them girlier. It just makes you look like you can't spell.

Namechanger60 · 21/01/2020 08:18

If it makes you all feel better, names like these arnt my usual choice, I have a George & a Violet already. Just this is going to be our last baby so just wanted a name I really loved

mumsie2019 · 21/01/2020 08:18

I like your names, Siage Matilda, both sound so lovely and Quincy how cool
I think any name can be made a joke of.
I choose a different middle name and I am so pleased I stuck with it.
Walk around saying the names out loud to hear it and the way others pronounce it
The comments Quincy Eli sounds like a disease, I wouldn't be to concerned to catch that haha

Equanimitas · 21/01/2020 08:21

I like your names, Siage Matilda

Right there is another demonstration of the problems of sticking a random letter i in.

mumsie2019 · 21/01/2020 08:22

It's Quinsy the throat infection not Quincy

palomapear · 21/01/2020 08:27

I'd think you could not spell Sage. But it's a good name for a pet.
I would not think of it as a girls name.

And Quincy is not good. It's an American TV show that was shown in the Uk.
I have a Quince tree in my garden.
And it's very similar to quinsy.

Anything else on your list?

NextdoorNeighbourIsATwat · 21/01/2020 08:27

I like Sage but not Saige.

A friend of mine had a dog called Quince (after the fruit) and I always thought that it sounded rather distinguished!

user1493494961 · 21/01/2020 08:28

Matilda is lovely and Eli OK. Don't like Saige and Quincy at all, Quincy is very American, Saige is odd, both a bit chavvy.

Shockers · 21/01/2020 08:30

George, Violet and Matilda are great names!

George, Violet and Quentin are too.

They put me in mind of Roald Dahl books.

Eyefatigue · 21/01/2020 08:31

Quint rather than Quincey

Namechanger60 · 21/01/2020 08:31

@palomapear the only other boys name is Dexter.
Girls it took us ages to name our daughter we already have so Saige is the only one we liked
