None it’s not very popularity

Spikeyball · 04/01/2020 17:46

I didn't know anyone of my age with my name until I went to university where I met two others living on the same floor of my hall of residence.

Snowflake9 · 04/01/2020 17:48

None. I have only ever spoken to someone on the phone with the same name as me.

TheGinGenie · 04/01/2020 17:51

Surprisingly only one in primary and secondary school (the same girl) even though our name was consistently one of the most popular names of the 80s and 90s. There were once five women with my name at work though.

NaughtyLittleElf · 04/01/2020 17:51

None in any of my schools, there's one in the organisation I work for out of about 400 people.

Carpathian2 · 04/01/2020 17:54

I was the only one too. In fact, I didn't come across anyone until I was well into my forties and there were 3 of us! Not that unusual a name either.

misssCa · 04/01/2020 17:54

None and have still not met another person with the same name to this day and I'm 23.

HotSauceCommittee · 04/01/2020 17:55

Loads of us; my name is Catherine/Katherine/Kathryn. All women of a certain age have this name along with 'Sarah".

Taswama · 04/01/2020 17:56

None in primary. One (but with a different spelling) for a brief period in secondary. Same story at work. I have never worked with someone with the same name although when I’ve worked in a large organisation there might be someone with the different spelling at a different office (yes I am sad enough to look in Outlook address book!). I really like it.

DivisionBelles · 04/01/2020 17:57

None at primary school and one or two at secondary which is surprising because my name is quite common, and the diminutive which I am known by, even more so. Guess it wasn't that popular in the 70/80s though.

GoGoLego · 04/01/2020 17:57

Should add know one of my name at work. From another department. My name is quite classic just fairly uncommon

Baaaahhhhh · 04/01/2020 17:58

None. I am now 50+ and still get compliments on my name as it is still pretty unusual, although I have come across a handful of others since. I can't tell you what it is as it is so unusual, someone will know it is me Grin. It is Italian, but not even very common there either.

Alarae · 04/01/2020 17:59

One in junior school although pronounced differently, none in secondary school (six form classes).

LunaLovesgood · 04/01/2020 18:00

There were 7 of us in my year at high school. Three of us had surnames beginning with the same letter too which got a bit confusing for everyone. My husband had a close knit group of friends from childhood and there are 3 of them with the same name too.

DD has a very popular name but we've only met 2 others so far (she's nearly 4).

NoFucksImAQueen · 04/01/2020 18:01

None in primary and 1 in secondary (whole school)

ToastyFingers · 04/01/2020 18:01

Literally zero.
I have a really ordinary but unpopular name.

milliefiori · 04/01/2020 18:01

None. There were a few with similar names but not the same spelling or pronounciation as mine.

NoFucksImAQueen · 04/01/2020 18:02

In fact in total I went to 9 schools and only met one other and that was in the last one

NoFucksImAQueen · 04/01/2020 18:03

@Baaaahhhhh now I really want to know what your name is

chocolatecoma · 04/01/2020 18:05

Non, even now at 23 I've never met another with the same name even though it isn't unusual

nagynolonger · 04/01/2020 18:06

Three in my year at junior school. Lots at secondary school. I was born in the 1950s so maybe less 'choice' of names .

Names from my era, Susan, Mary, Linda, Gillian, Janet, Karen, Angela, Pamela, Judith, Caroline, Christine, Alison, Jane, Nicolette, Lorraine. We had a Shona too (Scottish parents). Most had Elizabeth or Margaret as a middle name. We were the new Elizabethans after all.

nagynolonger · 04/01/2020 18:10

Maybe there will be some new little Elizabeths when the era comes to an end.

Wait4nothing · 04/01/2020 18:13

I was in a mixed sex year group of about 20 in primary and I I shared my name with 3 others! I think 3/4 had the same middle name too. Probably about 10 in my average sized secondary (including the 4 from my primary)

Screamqueenz · 04/01/2020 18:16

One other I the year group of 200.
