None. I met a little girl with my name the other day and it sounded quite cute on her, I’ve always seen it as an old lady name personally because none of my contemporaries ever had it! (It’s Harriet - I wanted something sharp and cool like Tania as a teen but I don’t mind it so much now as an adult!)

Blippolbblopp · 04/01/2020 16:19

Ive never met another woman within my age range with my name. I have met several woman with the same name as me but they have always been older than me. Im late 20's and the name is common amongst 45- 50 year olds,

Ive just had a quick google and it was a popular name in the 60's..... i was born in the 90's Grin

Soubriquet · 04/01/2020 16:20

None.

In primary, secondary, college or any job I’ve been at.

Hoppinggreen · 04/01/2020 16:22

None, it was seen as a bit out there and contributed to bullying
Then when I was about 18/19 it became more popular but as a shortened version of a common name, different spelling to mine though
Now there are a few about with the same spelling - I can tell how much it’s changed because people actually ask “is that with &&& or *” instead of just spelling it Like the short version of the common name

Rollonspringtime2020 · 04/01/2020 16:24

Never my whole life..

Chociefish · 04/01/2020 16:26

None at primary or secondary school had the same name and I've never actually met anyone with the same name, think I'm in the wrong country for that.

ImportantWater · 04/01/2020 16:26

None, even though it is a name which has always been relatively popular and is currently in the top 20. None in my college either.

DeadButDelicious · 04/01/2020 16:27

At least 5 or 6.

According to Mumsnet my name is 'classic'.

In the 80's however it was positively common.

userabcname · 04/01/2020 16:34

One girl had a shortening of my name but no one with my full name. There a few at the school where I teach now so it obviously became more popular when today's teens were being born! Don't see it much on the baby name board though so perhaps it's out of fashion again.

Disfordarkchocolate · 04/01/2020 16:36

None; I've only met one other. And I have a name you'll have heard of its just not many people like it (I do).

I went to school with someone who had the same first , middle and surname

HundredMilesAnHour · 04/01/2020 16:44

None in my schools or university. I've met one person in my life with the same name as me although my name is less rare these days than it was when I was growing up. It's not a weird name. Just not used that much in the UK although it's more popular in France. French people can always pronounce it correctly! It's actually an old Roman name although you'd never know unless you looked it up on Wiki.

I can't imagine being where someone has the same first name as me. I've always been the only one, especially at work. My surname isn't particularly common either so my full name becomes quite distinctive. I'm fine with that.

GrannyBags · 04/01/2020 16:48

One, although she used the German spelling, which added a c.
In 20 years in schools I’ve only taught two and worked with one.

rosy71 · 04/01/2020 16:50

None. I've only ever met one person with the same name. We were both very surprised!

SimonJT · 04/01/2020 16:51

Zero, despite having the most common mans name in the world. Now changed to something less common and less asian.

Jaguarana · 04/01/2020 16:54

My name was every other girl's middle name. It was much more unusual to have it as a first name.

My mother has such an unusual, distinctive name that she's never met another one. She hates it, and that's probably why she gave me a popular name.

XXcstatic · 04/01/2020 16:54

25% of my entire class in secondary school were called variants of Sarah 😀

cricketmum84 · 04/01/2020 16:57

Jag you are either Marie or Louise :)

AnnoyingSatsumaInMyStocking · 04/01/2020 16:59

Until recently I have never been the only X in a setting - school, uni, work, clubs etc. Never bothered me.

commoncoot · 04/01/2020 17:02

None at primary
4 in my year at senior school

I know a few at work .... I think my names fairly common really but never seem to be many around 🤷🏻‍♀️

Watto1 · 04/01/2020 17:04

Loads! In my tiny village primary school class of only 9 girls, 3 of us had the same name. My GCSE history class had 6 of us out of 15 with the same name. In my first job I was known as Little Watto to distinguish me from Big Watto. I’m 5’5 so not particularly little but Big Watto was 6’2 in her socks! I’m the only one in my current job but I’m also the only woman so perhaps not surprising.

Movinghouseatlast · 04/01/2020 17:05

2 in primary school. None at secondary.

MrsMoastyToasty · 04/01/2020 17:05

I was the only one with my name in primary school (30 pupils)but one of 5 in secondary school (60 pupils, all girls) but for 2 of the others it was their middle name which they used in preference to their first names.

Youcunnyfunt · 04/01/2020 17:08

None. I’ve only ever met someone with the same name once (and they were named after me!).
It’s a fairly popular name, I just don’t think it’s used very much even at “peak” popularity in the UK. It’s an Arabic name.
