I like it. I know 2 little Freyas and a handful of teenagers with the name.

funmummy48 · 04/01/2020 13:27

I know 4 between the ages of 6 months and 22 years. I think it's lovely.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 04/01/2020 13:29

I know 3 Freya’s 2yo, 4yo & 31yo. It’s a beautiful name.

Wolfiefan · 04/01/2020 13:29

I only know a couple. Love it.

Elouera · 04/01/2020 13:30

I know 2 and like it. one has an odd spelling though 'Freyja' which I don't like, as she has to spell it constantly as its always misspelt!

Soawesome · 04/01/2020 13:32

I know lots between the ages of 14 and 18. I don't know any younger though.

Soawesome · 04/01/2020 13:32

I like it.

SomeonesRealName · 04/01/2020 13:32

It's a great name

MikeUniformMike · 04/01/2020 13:58

It's ok, but Frey as a nn isn't.
It's a name that is nice if you only know one or two. It's about No 16 in the top names, so she could end up one of several in her year at school.
I only know one and she's in her 30s.

Sorry-that should have been a song link...

@Elouera

Freyja is the ancient Norse way to spell it

Freyja is a Norse Goddess and part of the Vanir.

OP, I think it's a beautiful name

20viona · 04/01/2020 15:03

My friend has just had a Freya. Out of the 12 babies in low dependency there is 6 Freya's in there she is not happy lol.

Weekday28 · 04/01/2020 15:10

I have a freya. I wanted Faye, if you were looking for an alternative but husband loved freya. We dont have any other in her school although it seems relatively popular.

Weekday28 · 04/01/2020 15:11

Oh and we nickname her Ray or her friends call her Frey just in case that may influence your view as I know some dont like particular nicknames.

dancingbadger · 04/01/2020 15:13

Love it! I know 2 one aged 14 and one age 10.

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 04/01/2020 15:18

Lovely name

IRememberSoIDo · 04/01/2020 15:19

Love it, was my almost name on dd2. If we'd had a third girl it would have been her name. Only one in my dd's school of 500 kids.

SallyWD · 04/01/2020 15:24

I love it

strawberry2017 · 04/01/2020 15:26

Love it 💖

Coughy4u · 04/01/2020 15:26

Dislike. Overrated and think of the bras when i hear it.

Timeforanamechangeagain1 · 04/01/2020 15:27

I have a Freya and I don't know any others other than an ex colleague of a friend who I've never met. I (obviously) think it's beautiful and I love the idea of a goddess riding her chariot through the skies led by giant cats

MikeUniformMike · 04/01/2020 15:31

I suppose you could use Fay as a nn.
I like Fay (no e), Fern and Freya.

nicslackey · 04/01/2020 15:34

Don't know any, love it and especially the Norse spelling pp explained.

MikeUniformMike · 04/01/2020 15:39

I wouldn't spell it Freja or Freyja. I know a Tanja (Tania) and a Sonja (Sonia), who don't like people pronouncing the j as 'dg'.
