Zelda or Holly?

I’m having trouble deciding between Zelda or Holly. Will be a Christmas baby. Her middle name is likely to be Cariad.

Would appreciate your honest thoughts! Thanks Smile

Love Holly!

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 07/11/2019 08:06

Holly Cariad

Trewser · 07/11/2019 08:08

Zelda. Holly is ubiquitous.

Bloomburger · 07/11/2019 08:09

Do you remember the TV show Terror Hawks?

Leopardprintboots · 07/11/2019 08:09

Holly!! I don’t know any x

Howtotrainyourhamster · 07/11/2019 08:12

Zelda is cool and edgy. Holly is a bit twee and dull.
Having said that, I actually think Zelda Holly is quite a nice balance for a Christmas baby. Zelda Cariad would be two pretty unusual names - is Cariad an name, I though it was a term of endearment?

MrsBertBibby · 07/11/2019 08:24

Zelda will delight game geeks everywhere. I'd prefer Zara.

Holly is really dull. Nice, but so predictable.

LadyB49 · 07/11/2019 08:26

Holly is pretty.
Not Zelds, but that's because of the Zelda that I know.

rumpusboo · 07/11/2019 08:27

Zelda reminds me of Terror Hawks, sorry x

Shelby30 · 07/11/2019 08:58

Holly

Hugsandpastries · 07/11/2019 08:59

I’ve not seen Terror Hawks no, had to look it up! Will many people remember that now if it stopped showing in the 80s?

Cariad has been picked by my partner - there’s a Welsh comedian called Cariad Lloyd who is on TV sometimes on shows like Have I got news for you.

Zelda! Beautiful and memorable name.

Holly is overused and dull.

Astronica · 07/11/2019 11:25

I'd love Cariad as the first name.

Zelda and Holly have such different feels to me - though I like both in different ways. Zelda is bold and feisty, Holly is friendly and likeable. Holly seems a safer option.... but is she a Zelda?

NoSauce · 07/11/2019 11:52

Not Zelda! Horrible name. Holly is pleasant enough if very boring.

HalfManHalfLabrador · 07/11/2019 12:05

Holly

Lavenderblues · 07/11/2019 12:06

I'd love to meet a little Zelda!

I know lots of Hollies already. I find it dull.

userabcname · 07/11/2019 12:06

Zelda! I do like Holly but there are loads of them.

RachelEllenR · 07/11/2019 12:13

Definitely Holly for me, beautiful. Not that it matters but I don't know any little ones.

Sweetaholic · 07/11/2019 12:15

Holly

FriedasCarLoad · 07/11/2019 12:20

Holly’s lovely. Everyone’s heard of it but it’s not actually that common.

I think Zelda sounds a bit faddy and won’t date well.

Cbeebiesrehab · 07/11/2019 12:31

A Christmas baby called Holly seems a bit cliche to me sorry. Although Zelda isn’t really my cup of tea either! I think Holly Cariad sounds much better. Cariad is a term of endearment in Welsh so I would be tempted to use that day to day :)

Grobagsforever · 07/11/2019 12:35

I have an Esmeralda who could obviously shorted to Zelda, but also have other options. That's the best plan Wink

BonBon411 · 07/11/2019 13:50

Holly is boring.
Zelda is fresh!

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 07/11/2019 13:58

Zelda reminds me sabrina the teenage witch, I love that show!!!
Definitely Holly, I have children in yrs 5,6 & 10, there is only 1 Holly out of all 3

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/11/2019 14:01

Zelda is awesome, it’s on our list. Holly is nice but boring.
Cariad Lloyd is awesome, it does mean love but is used as a name sometimes
