Four, one is about 70, one is mid 30s, one is early 20s and one is late 20s.

One, she is 40 something.

Until I met her I really liked the name Lydia! ;)

1 I think late thirties and an absolute gem of a person. Her name just makes me smile.

Lydia's what? Lydias...none. The 'lid' sound is quite harsh, so not keen.

10 years ago it seemed quite popular, but less so now. I think it is a very decent name not too popular but not unusual.

Two, aged 12 and four.

One who s about 3 and a little cutie pie and the other is my old manager who is 62 and a lovely woman.

I know a preschooler Lydia and she is awesome. It’s a fantastic name and I don’t think it’s at all old lady.

Two. One is 17 and one is 11. The 11-year-old one is mine!

I think it’s an incredibly elegant and strong feminine name

I would be wary these days because of the association with Aunt Lydia in the Handmaid’s Tale

It does seem to be for all ages of girls and women!

And thanks for grammar correction, missmouse - would be a bit mortifying if I couldn’t refer to my own child correctly

Also Lydia in Pride and Prejudice is not a great character but it’s the Aunt Lydia thing which would really really put me off
