Could you give me some examples of 'preppy' boys names? But nothing tooooo out there or uppity sounding e.g. Tarquinius or Horatio would be way too much for us!

OP posts:

Sorry yes OP there seems to be confusion about what the work “preppy” means

Can you clarify what you interpret the word to mean @PSL1990

Like the poster above said, I’m assuming you meant names for boys at public schools?

According to Wikipedia:

Preppy (also spelled preppie) or prep (all abbreviations of the word preparatory) is a subculture in the United States associated with old private Northeastern university-preparatory schools. The terms are used to denote a person seen as characteristic of a student or alumnus of these schools. Characteristics of preps in the past include a particular subcultural speech, vocabulary, dress, mannerisms and etiquette, reflective of an upper-class upbringing.[1]

If “preppy” means self assured, self confident, sporty, well off and reasonably clever, then these are the boys from DS’s peer group who meet those requirements.
