Boy/girl twins. What goes with....

Max.

We thought we had two girls. So had kind of matchy style names (Camille and Claudia) in the pipeline.

Neither of those is the girls' name I love, but I kind of didn't mind because there were two, so it wouldn't be like one had my favourite name over the other. I like both the names, but no more than like.

Now it's turned out they're definitely boy/girl. So the boy will be Max. And I can't think of anything I like other than the name I can't have, now it's only one girls name I need. (It's been what my daughter has always been called in my head for the last 20yrs, and literally a year ago, this bitch who's connected directly to our family stole it, and yes I am fucking bitter) Spam me with names that go with Max please. Help me find something I love...

How many syllables does your surname have, and if if you don't mind sharing what letter does it start with?

Too outing to answer much on that. But it's two syllables and not far off "Bell" as mentioned in PP. Let's go with..."Bellsey" that's similar enough and far away at the same time.

How about Antigone? I love it, especially with Tiggy as a nn

Tiggy as a nickname is adorable. Love it. Unfortunately Antigone makes me think of a cleaning product. I do like names that can have cute nicknames off the back of them. I like Mi-Mi for example, but again, don't like the Amelia, or such that it would stem from.

I know I'm a pain in the ass. That's why that one name was so important. It's really hard for me to like names, but when I do, I love it.

You think someone who doesn’t know you, ‘somehow found out’ a name you love but hadn’t used & then named their baby that name solely to piss you off ?

That sounds ridiculous to me & your anger & bitterness over someone naming their own baby a name you don’t have ownership of all seems a bit odd to me.

Courtney555 · 20/09/2019 21:37

Adrianna was in the list with Claudia and Camille. Angelina I think was as well. Hester too.

They're all just nice enough names though. They're not "Evangeline"

DB and DM wouldn't forgive me though. They couldn't stop me. And they'd know why. But they'd be really pissed. Because to them, I guess there's a billion other names, and I'm acting like I can only possibly like one. I see how it would look like that.

I'm furious that my beautiful daughter has had her name stolen by an awful woman for no reason other than to be spiteful.

This is just so extreme - your daughter didn’t even exist.

I genuinely do agree with the poster who suggests you see a counsellor or therapist because I really don’t think this is a healthy mindset (& I don’t say that as a slur either - but as someone who’s needed support at times previously). This irrational & targeted anger is very concerning.

Mind you, if I was pissed off with the person who used my fairly flouncy name like 'Evangeline', I'd be inclined to pretend I hated that kind of a name anyhow and go with something quite different, like Jean or Kim or Steve. > childish < but that name would grown upon me because it would be attached to my wonderful new baby. Create a 'new narrative' as they say.

Courtney555 · 20/09/2019 21:48

This is just so extreme - your daughter didn’t even exist.

No. It's not extreme. It's actual event.

My daughter hasn't existed for the last 20yrs. But for twenty years, I have known that should I ever be lucky enough to get her, she will be "Evangeline.". And now she does exist, and will arrive very soon.

You think someone who doesn’t know you, ‘somehow found out’ a name you love but hadn’t used & then named their baby that name solely to piss you off?

No. I don't think. I know. Because such a delight this woman is, she's told people she did it deliberately. Laughed about it. Because DB didn't want to start a relationship with her when she announced she was having his kid, she thought it was "funny" to piss off his family to get to him.

Anyway. Let's not derail.

"Evangeline" has gone, thanks to that arsehole.

So, back to suggestions...

"Flouncy"

That's a very good description. I like flouncy names. A bit princessy perhaps? Fairytale chic?

FFS Grin fairytale chic. I need a wine.

FML Grin but I can't even have one!!!

Can you tell us the name you had wished for her? We may be able to suggest something similar?

Namaste6 · 20/09/2019 21:55

Ah sorry - you just did.

Courtney555 · 20/09/2019 21:57

@Namaste6

It's really close to "Evangeline"

Ariadne? Athena? Fact is you could imagine two daughters with other names, but now, apparently you cannot. Can't see why you would want two daughters not to have "the" name, but not one.
