my friend is considering Lucy. With the resurgence of the Narnia series coming up i figured that i'd ask here for thoughts on the name.

My DD is Lucy. I love the name obviously. You don't see many of them, and it's pretty without being twee or frilly.

Lucy Pevensie is an awesome character too.

pontiouspilates · 01/09/2019 07:57

Lucy is a lovely, timeless name and not overused. Go for it!

NoSauce · 01/09/2019 08:08

I love Lucy. It’s perfect for all ages.

PrincessLouis · 01/09/2019 08:10

Is it Narnia day on the name board???

I think Lucy is great. Narnia association, also Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Go for it!

maras2 · 01/09/2019 08:15

My 'baby' Lucy was 43 last week Smile

EugenesAxe · 01/09/2019 08:18

How is it resurging? I love the name and the books! Not keen on the spelling Lucie though.

user1483387154 · 01/09/2019 08:22

it's a great name

finallychangedmyusername · 01/09/2019 08:42

Lucy and Peter are adjacent to each other on this board today. Grin Gorgeous, both names!

WinterHare · 01/09/2019 08:57

Love it.

Candace19 · 01/09/2019 09:10

I have a Lucy. Smile

Cookit · 01/09/2019 11:15

I really like it. (So hard not to say “I love Lucy” though!)

notso · 01/09/2019 12:02

I don't think it's a grown up name.

Susan is much stronger if you want a Narnia name.

daisypond · 01/09/2019 12:04

It’s a lovely classic name.

BoggiesBonnieBelle · 01/09/2019 12:08

Can't go wrong with Lucy. There are Lucys of all ages, so it won't get dated.

Lucy Stone was awesome.

AverageMummy · 01/09/2019 12:23

I think it’s a beautiful name

Bol87 · 01/09/2019 13:13

Lucy is lovely.

People have odd opinions on names. Think about your actual life, surely most people know an adult Lucy! I have several friends called Lucy who I knew as children up to adulthood (it was popular in my school in the 90’s!) & it’s a perfectly grown up name!

MrsGilly1 · 01/09/2019 13:32

My daughter middle name is Lucy, I love it x

hunsontherun · 01/09/2019 13:38

I LUV Lucy ❤️ There was a TV show called I luv Lucy ❤️

notso · 01/09/2019 14:08

Grin Bol87 I assume you mean me.
I did know a very grown up Lucy, my Grandma's friend. She was 92 when she died and I always thought her name didn't suit her.
Whenever I hear the name Lucy I think of a little girl in a party dress with pigtails.
Some names seem to suit certain ages better whereas other names are more classic or have diminutives.
I find it hard to picture a newborn Barry for another example.

june2007 · 01/09/2019 14:12

Lucy seems to cross generations, I had a great aunt Lucy, people in my year at school called Lucy and I work in a nursery with a child called Lucy. It's popular but not to the extent that you feel everyone has that name.

TheoriginalLEM · 01/09/2019 14:16

I have a Lucy named after Lucy pevensie.

sorrythisusernameistaken · 01/09/2019 14:16

My friend is also naming her baby Lucy. It's a lovely name. Not your baby so not really your problem is it

SpearEyes890 · 01/09/2019 14:24

It is a cute one but consider Lucinda Lucia or Lucia for some latin spice x

Alwaysgrey · 01/09/2019 14:27

DramaAlpaca · 01/09/2019 14:28
