I know two hectors, one dog , one horse...

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 17/06/2019 14:19

Unfortunately it makes me think of someone who talks in a hectoring voice, and isn't very pleasant.

PineappleSeahorse · 17/06/2019 14:35

No. It's a very unattractive name and it also means bully or to bully.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 17/06/2019 14:36

Yes, I would definitely name my dog it.

crosspelican · 17/06/2019 14:39

I like it. The story of Hector in the Iliad is wonderful - he's very brave, good and a loving father.

It's an unusual name, but the only little boy I know called Hector is wonderful!

EssentialHummus · 17/06/2019 14:39

Nope, “hectoring”. I know a baby Hector though.

Charm23 · 17/06/2019 15:13

I wouldn't use it in a million years but if you like it, you go for it!

Kittekats · 17/06/2019 15:14

No I don’t like it sorry.

Kanga83 · 17/06/2019 15:25

I know a two year old spelt Hecktor, I quite like it.

Aethelthryth · 17/06/2019 15:27

Lovely. I almost chose it and my son says he wishes I had.

LRBug · 17/06/2019 15:29

I weirdly really like it- it's not usually my style but it popped into my head when we were coming up with names and I would have put it quite high up on my list if DH hadn't vetoed it.

I like it

teachermam · 17/06/2019 15:38

No

Etihad · 17/06/2019 15:41

Immediately makes me think of the Morrissey song. It doesn’t end well for that particular Hector.

megletthesecond · 17/06/2019 15:42

Yes.

BlueMerchant · 17/06/2019 15:44

Not keen. For some reason reminds me of an old farmerGrin

MagicKingdom · 17/06/2019 15:47

My first thought was breaking bad.. It's just not a name I would choose.

SushiForBreakfast · 17/06/2019 15:48

Yes I like it! I think Trojan hero.

AudacityOfHope · 17/06/2019 15:48

What, compared to the millions of nice names in the world? No, I don't like it.

missmouse101 · 17/06/2019 15:53

Nooooo!

SometimesItRains · 17/06/2019 15:57

No

Tana433 · 17/06/2019 15:59

Have you been watching Berlin Station by any chance OP?! I quite like it to be honest.

Femodene · 17/06/2019 15:59

In most english accents it would be pronounced ‘hecta’, do you like that?

MsTSwift · 17/06/2019 16:01

Love it. No skin in the game as no sons there’s a mother at school with 2 sons one called this and the other my other choice of boys name which slightly freaks me out as both names pretty unusual
