What would you call Giselle's sister?

Hi there,

Looking for some suggestions for Giselle's sister! My husband and I are struggling to agree on any names. I like Annalise, Genevieve and Rosalie. He likes Juliette, Sylvie and Violet.

I would love it if you wonderful people could suggest some names in the same vein as the ones above.

Thank you!

P.S. No names that end with -elle please! People always mix up mine and my daughters names. We don't need another one in the mix lol

Before I even clicked on your op, just based on the subject line, I thought of Genevieve! I also thought of Viola, Flora, and Lillian.

Maud, vera, persephone

Genevieve is actually one of my favourites but my husband isnt sure. It's funny that you mentioned Flora as it's quite similar to my husbands suggestion of Florence.

Out of the choices you've mentioned already I like Genevieve and Juliette the most

wheresmymojo · 27/05/2019 01:53

I also think Isla goes nicely

BlehBleh · 27/05/2019 01:57

wheresmymojo- Same tbh, but Juliette is a no no as its one of my friends names. I just can't get past that. I'm looking for some fresh options but secretly hoping that my husband will come round to Genevieve.

Sylvie - but all of them would be lovely. I do like Flora. Genevieve is such a nice name so lovely if that works out but perhaps prone to Jenny ( nothing wrong with that I hasten hasten to add ) , but just not the name you chose - If it were me Flora or Sylvie would be my favourites ( well also Juliet but can see you have other reasons for that name.

I have a Giselle and a Liesl. Other names on our lists included Harriet, Lydia, Gabrielle, Alina/Aliena and Ivy.

I have a cousin called Genevieve and love the name. But her whole life, the only person who calls her Genevieve is her Mum. To everyone else she is Gen.

If you like Geneviève and he doesn't, maybe a derivative or something close in sound - Guinevere, Gwenaelle, Gwenig, Gwenoa...

NannyRed · 27/05/2019 05:50

I love your Juliette, maybe because it has such romantic connotations but I think it’s beautifully feminine. I should have liked to be called Juliette or Julia.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 27/05/2019 05:55

I was also coming on to say Genevieve before I read your OP.
I like Sylvie. I prefer Rosalind to Rosalie.
