What would you call Giselle's sister?

Hi there,

Looking for some suggestions for Giselle's sister! My husband and I are struggling to agree on any names. I like Annalise, Genevieve and Rosalie. He likes Juliette, Sylvie and Violet.

I would love it if you wonderful people could suggest some names in the same vein as the ones above.

Thank you!

P.S. No names that end with -elle please! People always mix up mine and my daughters names. We don't need another one in the mix lol

If you have difficulty with Rs it’s one to stay away from.

Names like Juliet or Aurora or Odette etc make it too themed alongside Giselle for my taste. Similarly, Margot and Sylvie make it very ballet as well - maybe OK if you’re a big fan. Genevieve is nice but I’m not keen on sibling names starting with the same letter.

Jasmine
Evangeline
Sienna

So few people are into ballet that most people won’t even twig.

The associations most posters recognise on here are: Disney, Celebs, pop music and sport.

daisypond · 27/05/2019 16:14

tatiana I did think maybe it might be a bit niche!

How about Adelaide or Nina?

Genevieve is beautiful and classy and goes well with Giselle

indigo13 · 27/05/2019 17:58

I see what you mean. If you like French names, how about Elodie?

BlehBleh · 27/05/2019 18:02

@daisypond You've literally listed all the reasons why I have reservations about certain names. I share initials with my brother and my mum would always accidentally give him my post.

I know a Giselle with a sister of Josephine

Jasmine

I know a Giselle with a sister Fleur, so Fleur was immediately what came to mind for me. Two of the most beautiful sweet-natured children I've ever met tbh.

Sylvie is far from old ladyish - it's quite a popular choice where I am.
I doubt many would pick up the ballet association.

I would avoid a name with the same initial.

Suggestions:
Seraphine
Celestine
Coraline
Emilie
Marie-Élise
Emmeline
Claudia
Lilou
Cecelia
Delphine
Juliana
Zenaida
Leontine

@mathanxiety The only Sylvie I've ever known was a family friend that was in her 90's. Sylvie is seen as an old lady name where my mother is originally from so maybe that's why I can't get past that connotation.
