Were you caught out? Or waiting to see how it pans out?!

When did Game of Thrones start to take over your thoughts, OP?

Aberforthsgoat · 17/05/2019 23:02

OP you seem to be fixated on a tv show you claim to detest? You can’t stop posting about it!

Miljah · 17/05/2019 23:07

Oh, hi guys!

OP posts:
Miljah · 17/05/2019 23:08

Tell me you didn't name your child Khaleesi.

I haven't followed you anywhere else on MN but... it would cast a whole different dimension to this if you did... 🤔

OP posts:
Miljah · 17/05/2019 23:10

Please respond or we'll be shut down as TAAT! 😊

Confused
fuckitywhat · 17/05/2019 23:12

Op.... Are you OK?

Aberforthsgoat · 17/05/2019 23:15

I’m confused Confused
Just seems like a goady thread tbh. What do you expect people to say “yes I’m gutted now and completely regret it” so you can find another reason to smugly chastise a tv show?
Bizarre. Maybe spend less time focusing on something you claim not to like.

Fleabag123 · 17/05/2019 23:19

OP did you just watch The Last Leg on C4? They just talked about this very issue

Miljah · 17/05/2019 23:38

Fleabag no! Did they! I record it when I'm at work so will catch up!

What was their take?

OP posts:
Miljah · 17/05/2019 23:49

Mumsnet towers, sorry but I think you need to take this thread down. I am sort of feeling there are some on another thread, that, accepting that this one was born off it, life being what it is... who are seriously over invested.

It will have been made clear that I consider GoT to be grim. But I understand that my stance (tho my contribution has been quite minimal, considering 🤔) has aroused quite extreme reaction.

Maybe it's time to put both threads to bed.

CodenameVillanelle · 17/05/2019 23:51

Miljah MNHQ don't read all threads. They are unlikely to delete your threads because you've changed your mind about posting.

Miljah · 17/05/2019 23:53

No, I haven't changed my mind. I feel 100% vindicated about what I've posted! But I am also mindful that my opinion might be upsetting, particularly if you have chosen that name.

OP posts:
RedDogsBeg · 17/05/2019 23:56

You seem to have a very unhealthy obsession with this show.

What are you aiming to achieve with this thread? Are you really so desperate to be holier than thou and shout a smug "I told you so" that you need to do so by sneering at others people who may have chosen names from GoT for their children.

To paraphrase a line from your other thread - What is wrong with you?

Miljah · 18/05/2019 00:00

Red it wasn't my intention to upset you so much. I am genuinely amazed and surprised how invested so many people are in this vile, gory, ugly faux medieval 'fantasy' that they are coming on so furious with me for even suggesting that GoT is rather grim.

OP posts:
Thallo · 18/05/2019 00:02

No one as invested as you it would seem!

RedDogsBeg · 18/05/2019 00:08

You haven't upset me in the slightest, I find your attitude and behaviour in starting a thread to sneer at parents for their name choices in order to smugly pat yourself on the back for being so superior quite reprehensible.

Don't be disingenuous you are not just saying GoT is grim.

Miljah · 18/05/2019 00:15

Red, like I have already stated on(the other thread)......Take step back.

You are genuinely over-invested in this. You are actually deeply angry that I find your investment in the soft-porn, gore and blood-fest that is GoT - a bit disturbing.

I observe; you appear to feel, viscerally.

Step back.

OP posts:
Blossom28 · 18/05/2019 00:19

Wow Miljah, why are you so worked up about a show that you don’t like?! Very simple, don’t watch it and don’t talk about it!

RedDogsBeg · 18/05/2019 00:27

Not over invested in the slightest just think people who get their kicks out of starting threads to sneer at others are despicable and that is exactly the point of this thread.

The only person here who is disturbing is you, OP.

For the record I am neither angry nor feeling anything viscerally, you on the other hand.

Miljah · 18/05/2019 00:28

Blossom it's always a good retort to imply a responder is 'so worked up' etc. I've used it on your fellow GoT fan club. I'm bowing out as I have work coming in.

OP posts:
Miljah · 18/05/2019 00:29

Goodnight, and thank you

OP posts:
Thallo · 18/05/2019 00:30

Nuttier and nuttier.

Blossom28 · 18/05/2019 00:34

I just think it’s bonkers to let yourself get so mad about a tv show.. it’s not real, and violence has always been used in entertainment. people who named their child Khaleesi probably did so because they liked the name and probably won’t be that bothered about what the fictional namesake is getting up to! Many people have namesakes who have done something terrible, and are fine! I don’t think you need to worry about it :)

NunoGoncalves · 18/05/2019 00:38

Seems about 31 out of about 1.7 million girls born in the last 5 years have been named Khaleesi. I doubt many – if any – of their parents are on mumsnet tbh.
