Names like Ottoline, Ophelia, Clementine....

We are due with our little girl in 4 weeks and desperately want to choose a name. We want something that sounds “elegant and kind” and isn’t that popular. We already have a little boy called Rupert.

Names we are considering (but would welcome other similar suggestions are):

Ottoline
Tabitha (any good nicknames for Tabitha that aren’t tabby?)
Ophelia
Aurelia (any nickname suggestions?)

Aurelia is nice - I'd go for nn Ray/Rey or Reya

Not Clementine? That’s my favourite.

You might get away with Beth as a NN for Tabitha but it’s a cat’s name really.

Tabitha - could be Thea as a nicename, but you'd probably have to do what my friend did when she wanted and nickname that wasn't the most common for her DD's name - she didn't introduce her DD with the long name, always with the shortened one she liked, until it had stuck.

I wanted aurelia violet, I've always liked the name, long before they became names which became more fashionable.my parents friends granddaughter was born 6 month before my daughter and called aurora violet. I felt i had to change my plan. I like Ophelia but it always reminds me of the drowned lady in the lake!
