Hi, my last thread was opinions on:

Ivy
Etta
Willa
Bella

but we've put Ivy and Willa aside for time being, Etta is nice but I don't LOVE it. everyone said Bella is very much a dogs name and I agree, dh suggested Isabella and I love it!!
I think its really pretty. we wouldn't call her izzy or bella though, just Isabella maybe sometimes Isa. what do you think? does the popularity dull it? i'm not convinced so i'd just like some opinions please, thank you very much everyone :)

its gorgeous x

Finfintytint · 08/05/2019 18:14

It’s lovely.
I quite like Ivyettawillabella as one name too Grin

Chocolatecake12 · 08/05/2019 18:15

It’s a lovely name.
Other suggestions
Annabella
Arabella

Frangipane · 08/05/2019 18:16

It is my adult daughter's middle name. There is not a day goes by I don't wish it was her first name. We would have used Izzy and Bella though, but it doesn't matter so much about it being a dog's name (Bella) if you have the alternative of the full name. Love it. Go for it!

happymummy12345 · 08/05/2019 18:17

A friend of ours called her daughter Isabella but they use bells for short. I think it's lovely

octonoughtcake3 · 08/05/2019 18:17

It’s a lovely name but very popular at the moment.

nrpmum · 08/05/2019 18:19

I have always loved Isabella.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 08/05/2019 18:20

It is a gorgeous name, very popular and be prepared for it to be shortened by her, we have one in the family and as soon as she started school she became Izzy

notangelinajolie · 08/05/2019 18:21

Isabella is such a beautiful name, as is Bella. It would be on my list too.

oohbubbles1 · 08/05/2019 18:21

thank you for all the positive feedback everyone :)
one of the things that is holding me back is I don't like nn Izzy at all. do you think this is inevitable?
WDYT of nn Isa (said Iz-ah)? x

Lovely name but majorly popular here in Yorkshire, I hear it everywhere we go.

Marlena1 · 08/05/2019 18:22

It's gorgeous!

sleepismysuperpower1 · 08/05/2019 18:27

the time when she is likely to be called izzy is when she starts school, but you can get round this by telling the school what her nickname is, and introducing her as her nickname x

Haworthia · 08/05/2019 18:28

It’s a perfectly lovely name but there are billions of them. Probably at least six in my daughter’s year at school.

oohbubbles1 · 08/05/2019 18:43

I know a lot of Isabel/Isabelle's, but not one Isabella- funny, must be area. I didn't want a popular name though so not ideal. thank you for the replies x

I’ve got an Isabella who quickly became Bella. Also know 2 dogs called Bella - I don’t care I still love it! 😆

INeedAFlerken · 08/05/2019 18:47

It's a beautiful name, but quite popular.

Oh but Willa is so much nicer.

Clownfish123 · 08/05/2019 18:57

I think it's such a lovely name. I wouldn't use it because it is just so overused especially when you include all the Bella's, Isabel, Isabelle, Isobel etc but it is probably my all time fave girls name.

ReganSomerset · 08/05/2019 18:58

Fairly unremarkable and popular, OP. No one will mock it (aside from the 'is-a-bell-a necessity on a bicycle' crowd, and there's no pleasing them). If you love it, go for it. Do expect to hear Izzy at some point though.

daisypond · 08/05/2019 18:58

It’s very pretty and I do like it a lot but I think it’s a little behind the curve and a simpler name is more in tune with the zeitgeist, if that bothers you.

Ginger1982 · 08/05/2019 19:09

Jesus, don't nickname her Isa! Old lady name and I doubt her pals will use it. I have a very similar name so I know all about this! You can't really control nicknames.

Bluerussian · 08/05/2019 19:11

Isabella is a lovely name.

sucresugar · 08/05/2019 19:34

Very popular
