So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

1: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3189874-guessing-game

2: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3207745-Guessing-game-II

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1ℴ=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

So 3 is fat boy slim so could be Zoe or Woody

Ladywillpower · 15/07/2020 03:23

The alias of Beatrix is Arlene Machiavelli?

LadyGAgain · 15/07/2020 06:38

Is 4 Montgomery (Lightening) McQueen named after Glen McQueen?

finallychangedmyusername · 15/07/2020 09:59

3 is indeed Fatboy Slim! (But not Zoe, nor Woody).

And 4 isn't Lighting McQueen (which both DSs would have approved of!)

And no, Beatrix is a wife-to-be, possibly dressed as such!... her alias is more slithery.

Whilst clue 1 IS a literary clue, you'll need to think more visually... Dahl's sidekick. Smile

LadyGAgain · 15/07/2020 12:12

Ooh well done Lady G & excellent clues finally!
That brought back memories of Questin Wilson on Strictly Come Dancing & I would never have guessed that it was Fat Boy Slim's middle name.
Looking forward to the next clue 🙄

finallychangedmyusername · 16/07/2020 07:13

Here you go!

Clue 1 - The tall man is the BFG, the large reptile is the Enormous Crocodile and Sophie is the little girl in the BFG. Quentin Blake was the illustrator for all these Roald Dahl characters.

Clue 2 - The wife-to-be is the heroine in the movie Kill Bill, best known as The Bride (code name is Black Mamba). The colourful gentlemen references Misters Brown, White, Blonde, Blue, Orange and Pink in Reservoir Dogs. Vincent is a title character in Pulp Fiction. Quentin Tarantino directed and produced Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.

Clue 3 - Norman who has an ever-changing waistline is the DJ, Norman Cook, AKA Fatboy Slim. His full name is Norman Quentin Cook and he was born Quentin Leo Cook.

Clue 4 - Cars/number 5 references the TV show Fifth Gear, hosted by Quentin Willson.

And the final (deliberately omitted) (non) clue was that there 5 clues! Or a clue to the number 5... Quentin itself means "five" or " the fifth".

Hope you enjoyed that one! Grin

Meant to add, the Bride's real name is Beatrix (although it's only mentioned once in the films, she's always know as simply The Bride or Black Mamba). Anyway, I digress.... she's one of Quentin Tarantino's (kick-ass) characters. Smile
