So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

1: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3189874-guessing-game

2: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3207745-Guessing-game-II

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1â„´=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

And since @Ladywillpower correctly guessed @FintyTin's last clue, this is @Ladywillpower**'s latest clue:

This old German name opened Pandora's box in 1929. Her royal connections meant that she waltzed off to one of the Channel Islands with the Doctor.

@Clettercletterthatsbetter has guessed Clara!

LadyGAgain · 28/07/2019 17:37

OMG! Crossed post! Great minds Wink

Ladywillpower · 28/07/2019 17:42

Well done both!
Over to you finally Smile

finallychangedmyusername · 28/07/2019 18:16

This might be too cryptic... probably not for you clever folk actually Grin - here goes:

You can either scale up this guy or almost soak him in the sea. He might warble at you or serve you a delicious dinner (a homely Cheddar cheese might be on the menu at this restaurant).

Robin?

LadyGAgain · 28/07/2019 22:13

Cliff?

finallychangedmyusername · 28/07/2019 22:43

Not Robin, nor Cliff, sorry.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 29/07/2019 18:16

He's a Welshman

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 29/07/2019 18:39

Bryn?

finallychangedmyusername · 30/07/2019 06:44

Yes it's Bryn! Bryn means hill, he is almost brine (!), Bryn Terfel, Bryn Williams (based at Somerset House).

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 30/07/2019 11:38

Excellent clues. I didn't get the brine clue at all but came up with a few fanciful options!
Continuing on a Celtic theme.
The sea is my family home. Member of an acting dynasty, model & daughter of a current Prime Minister. But do take care to spell my name correctly.

finallychangedmyusername · 30/07/2019 20:11

Niamh/Neve?

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 31/07/2019 06:44

Yes!
In Irish mythology Niamh is the daughter of the God of the sea.
The actress is Niamh Cusack.
Nieve Jennings is the model
Neve Gayford is the daughter of the NZ Prime Minister.
Over to you.

finallychangedmyusername · 03/08/2019 16:28

Inspiration is currently failing me, so.... a popular name in Surrey. Could be nicknamed to a round object.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 04/08/2019 21:22

It's definitely a "Mumsnet name". Grin

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 05/08/2019 02:15

Annabel?

finallychangedmyusername · 05/08/2019 17:05

Nah, try thinking: more unique to Mumsnet (and nowhere else!) Grin

Balonz! (Sorry for the sporadic visitations to this thread - I’m usually watching but too thick to get the clues. Or too late!)

zvjezdica · 05/08/2019 18:39

Balonz?

zvjezdica · 05/08/2019 18:40

Cletter got there first! Well done Grin
Also hello, I was on one of these threads months ago but haven't been on MN for a while, it's great to see this game still going!

finallychangedmyusername · 05/08/2019 19:24

You got it @Clettercletterthatsbetter and @zvjezdica. Grin Gotta love Balonz!

Over to you @Clettercletterthatsbetter! Congrats on getting this one, please stay around! Smile

Oh flip, is just spent ages devising a clue to discover the name has already been done!

Back to the drawing board...

I will come back with a clue, I promise - but have an extra child this week in addition to my two so everything is taking a bit longer!

LadyGAgain · 07/08/2019 07:41

FWIW I don't think it matters if name has been done before. It's a long thread!
