Thinking of names for a possible son, and I cant get past a name I love, and I like no other names. However, it is a name which if people watch the show will immediately make the connection. He's not a major character, but I've not heard of any other person with that name!
Would you eyeroll and judge? Or would you not even think about it?

Jaqen is fine. Not too out there and not necessarily an immediate connection to GOT. Actually I first thought of Joaquin Phoenix (is that how you spell it?) . I think its pronounced quite similar.

I don’t think it is - Jaqen is pronounced Jacken and Joachim is Wakim. I think.

It’s going to date really, really badly. And people may well assume you’ve called your DS Jaqueline. Could you use it as a middle name and use a not made up GoT first name?

Hope there isn't a Jill in your family...

DD1 is Phoebe she was named the year after friends became popular in the UK. EVERYONE said " ohh like in Friends" (no actually she is named after JD Salingers "The Catcher in the Rye") and at the time it REALLY bothered me. However ffw 20odd years and actually it no longer bothers me we love the name and it suits her she is very much a Phoebe.

So no would not put me off nor would I be concerned about a name being " made up"

(We did avoid Daphne though for dd2 due to Frasier even though I love the name)

My late nan was a Phoebe and always absolutely loathed the name (to point aged 65 she decided to declare she was going by her middle name instead). She was always completely bemused by the absolute glut of mid-90s Phoebes inspired by Friends!

Who cares if some randommer would eye roll. You won't be the first that will use it or the last, if you do.
It makes me smile when people say 'it's a made up name' as well because...they all are. At some point they were made up.
My sons name is quite uncommon but not bizarre, he loves having something a bit different
