Help me with my second DS name please! DH prefers Cillian but the lack of a nickname is putting me off slightly.
Which do you prefer?

Harrison makes me think of Ford. Strong, handsome, talented, etc.

Cillian makes me think of Murphy. Foppish and watery eyed.

They’re both nice names, those are just the images that immediately spring to mind.

Oh interesting! Thanks Sosig

Cillian is lovely!

Names don't to be shortened. I have a 3 syllable name and it never gets shortened.

Not Harrison please! I know of a child named Harrison Hall and it sounds like a Music Hall act!! p.s. it is a surname.

Greenlegobox · 02/04/2019 18:51

Why do you need a nickname?

Silversky70 · 02/04/2019 18:53

But the nickname would be "Kill"?

Icklepup · 02/04/2019 18:58

Harrison

Knowivedonewrong · 02/04/2019 19:02

WoollyMummoth · 02/04/2019 19:03

MsInconspicuous · 02/04/2019 19:08

My nephews name is Cillian. Nickname Cilly.. (Killy)

EleanorRigbey · 02/04/2019 19:08

Cillian, love that name

Divgirl2 · 02/04/2019 19:16

Cillian. Harrison is the NBN of the future.

serenawren · 02/04/2019 19:17

Thanks everyone, seems quite mixed so far. Thought I'd need a nickname judging by the amount I call out my DS name!

Cillian unless you have no Irish blood.

serenawren · 02/04/2019 19:18

Havelock - I have no Irish blood but DH does.

Harrison I love because of H Ford and it’s one of my sons middles names, however it seems quite common at the moment I hear it being shouted in the playground a lot 😁

Cillian is lovely I think

ThanksItHasPockets · 02/04/2019 19:32

Cillian. Harrison is very popular right now and I think will date quite quickly.

WillowintheUK · 02/04/2019 19:40

What is NBN?

WillowintheUK · 02/04/2019 19:41

And I like Harrison. Cillian looks a bit unfinished to me, but that’s just me.

Yerroblemom1923 · 02/04/2019 19:42

Cillian. Unusual yet cool. Harrison....well I've never known a nice child with that name which always tends to sway me!

huggybear · 02/04/2019 19:45

I really like Cillian. Maybe no obvious nickname but aren't organic nicknames the best ones away? I think Harrison will be the Gary or Trevor of the future.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 02/04/2019 20:02

Love Harrison. Can be Harry as NN
I find Cillian a bit harsh TBH

C0untDucku1a · 02/04/2019 20:04

Harrison is so very overused and ive not met one who isnt naughty

C0untDucku1a · 02/04/2019 20:05

Harrison will be the Gary or Trevor of the future
