Delilah?

I love the way this name sounds, and nickname of lilah.

What’s your thoughts?

I’m not religious at all so don’t really care about biblical connotations.

I love Delilah but my husband is keen on Cara.

I prefer Lilah! Delilah does sound very fictional character. I think of the Plain White T's song. Which isnt bad - that song is very sweet! It's not a bad name but I think it's a bit of a mouthful compared to Lilah (or Lila which us the spelling I prefer).

I also really, really love Dahlia. It was on my list and probably my next girl if I have another. It's similar and I love it a thousand times more!!

But obviously my opinions here. If you love Delilah you should go for it. Its lovely and the songs arent bad.

The little Delilah I have met is gorgeous, so for that reason I like it. It took some getting used to. The only Delilah I was used to hearing was the Tom Jones song. However it's probably a song that will not be known to your daughters generation.

My daughter has a friend called Alice, and I don't think any of her peers know the who the f*ck is Alice song.

I wanted Clarissa with nn Carrie, but DH would not agree.

P. S. I live in Wales so do hear the Tom Jones song rather a lot. Rather than rugby I always associate it with my youth spent in the Royal Welsh members tent.

Nickname Clarrie even for Clarissa, just in case anyone wants to steal it. Autocorrect on phone changed it.

I loved Delilah, but in my head, it's inextricably linked with the Tom Jones song and while I like the song as much as the next person, I couldn't spend my life constantly having it going round and round in my head!

I LOVE Delilah. I wouldn't worry about it, I get my name sang at me all the time and it just makes me laugh. Think chubby browns version!

The Carina I know has her name shortened to Nina.

My baby girl is due in June and is going to be called Delilah! I think it’s a beautiful name - I couldn’t care less about the bible reference and I don’t think anyone under the age of 50 would even know! the same with Tom Jones - Plain white tees is a lovely song so I am not worried at all! Xx
