Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if it's a bit like calling your child town centre or plaza something.

Stingray.

That is all.

SheldonandMama · 11/03/2019 20:06

Love it.

Bookworm01 · 11/03/2019 20:06

I'm thinking, "boat"? Grin

ApplestheHare · 11/03/2019 20:08

My dh just wanted to add it reminded him of a song from "Stingray"!

YogaWannabe · 11/03/2019 20:12

Just about to sing 'Marina, Aqua Marina...'!! But not a reason to abandon the name - lovely name and super show!

Peachbubble · 11/03/2019 20:15

Love it

ApplestheHare · 11/03/2019 20:15

Plus who now would remember that?! (Apart from us!)

Candace19 · 11/03/2019 20:15

Nope.

Deletemyname30 · 11/03/2019 20:15

Yeah, it's a fab name

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 11/03/2019 20:17

In all honesty she was a character from stingray which was a children's series by the makers of thunderbirds. Think she was an underwater girl? Maybe mute?

Calloway · 11/03/2019 20:22

I quite like it and it's a 'posh name' in my head. (Well, aside from Marina from Last of the Summer wine, the aged good time girl who was always getting her end away in a field with that henpecked man. Niche reference though Grin).

KnockMeDown · 11/03/2019 20:23

Others have explained before me. It's a classic series from the same genre as the original Thunderbirds. Marina was the beautiful and mysterious female lead, who couldn't speak. So not a bad association, unless she turns out very talkative! Grin

ApplestheHare · 11/03/2019 20:26

Thanks KnockMeDown and GlennRheeismyfavourite, I'd never have known. Just had a google and it sounds like Stingray had some good characters!

Calloway thanks and not too niche a reference as I've heard of Last of the Summer Wine Smile

I went to school with a girl called Marina and always thought it was a lovely name.

outforawalkbitch2018 · 11/03/2019 20:30

It's lovely

dontcallmelen · 11/03/2019 20:30

Was just coming on to say Stingray & thought no maybe not, no one would get the reference, as I’m very very old.
Very pretty name.

MollyYouInDangerGirl · 11/03/2019 20:56

I think it's really nice!

missmouse101 · 11/03/2019 21:01

No! It's a place to moor a boat and sounds very dated.

Harebellsies · 11/03/2019 21:02

Love it. Sounds very parisienne to me. Actually distantly know some Marinas and they are lovely.
