Or any other ch/sh sounding names. Or names that you'd prefer that are similar. Not Charlotte

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
flowersaremyfave · 28/02/2019 08:58

I actually like Chantal you don't hear it often. But prefer it spelt Chantel

KingHenrysCodpiece · 28/02/2019 09:00

Shiloh?

FissionChip5 · 28/02/2019 09:02

Charlie is nice as a girls name.

FissionChip5 · 28/02/2019 09:02

(I know it’s not the ‘sh’ sound but it’s nice).

MermaidsAreAmazing · 28/02/2019 09:03

Shiloh I dislike due to personal connections.
I like Chantal but worry it is dated but I haven't met one since I was a child (and she was a child, in the 90s)

Shannon
Shelly
Cherrie
Charity
Charley

MermaidsAreAmazing · 28/02/2019 09:04

I could never use Charlie, I know so many! Both sexes and all sorts of spellings.

Sorry I really don't like it. Round here it would definitely be a chav name. I'm going to get flamed for that, but it's true.

GreenDinosaur · 28/02/2019 09:05

Cheryl

KingHenrysCodpiece · 28/02/2019 09:07

Chiara?
Chayla?
Shereese
Shantay/Chantay
Charlene

MermaidsAreAmazing · 28/02/2019 09:09

I really like Cherry

OP posts:
flowersaremyfave · 28/02/2019 09:15

Chanice
Shania
Cherry
Shaleyn
Chasity

BlueMerchant · 28/02/2019 09:16

I like it. I spelt it Cherrie in my post but seeing it written prefer Cherry too. I like it lots more than Chantal- a bit dated to me.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 28/02/2019 09:16

Chardonnay?

Mmmhmmokdear · 28/02/2019 09:19

Chantal is horrible, sorry OP.

I knew a Cerise (said shereese) once, that could be an option.

needthisthread · 28/02/2019 09:25

It looks like an error for Chantelle, which is awful.

FissionChip5 · 28/02/2019 09:45

How about Siobhan?

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 28/02/2019 09:46

Shelby?

clairethewitch70 · 28/02/2019 09:49

Sian
Shannon
Sharon
Cheryl

StillMissV · 28/02/2019 09:52

Sorry OP but where I'm from it's pronounced "Shunt-UL" (broad Scottish) and sounds awful. What about Sian or Shannon?

ZaZathecat · 28/02/2019 09:53

I like Chantal, but I hear it pronounced the French way. Where I live it would probably be morphed into Shan-tauw!

reallybadidea · 28/02/2019 09:58

I think there's something about names starting with a 'Sh' sound that is very 80s/90s somehow. Apart from Charlotte, which is still very popular.

I had a friend called Cheralyn when I was growing up which I thought was just the coolest name ever!

ArsenicNLace · 28/02/2019 10:06

If you're French or a stripper fine but otherwise no.

flowersaremyfave · 28/02/2019 10:09

There's no such thing as a "stripper name" I knew a stripper her name was Kate!

So snobby 🙄

SaffronandRosewater · 28/02/2019 10:09

I think all those “ch” names sound chavvy I’m afraid.
