Baby here, arrived fast and 3 weeks early. No names picked out. DH wants Wren. What do folk think?

I like either classic/ old lady or modern unusual (Persephone, Ophelia, Ada, Eden).

We haven't announced it yet and are currently giving it a try.

Reminds me of Mick Jaggers ex who commit suicide although her name was L'Wren I think

Ploppymoodypants · 19/01/2019 05:25

I think it is a beautiful name. I know only one, and she is beautiful and intelligent and sensitive in an arty kind of way.

Xmastummyhasgonebig · 19/01/2019 05:36

Love

babypsmum · 19/01/2019 05:37

Gorgeous!

Aethelthryth · 19/01/2019 05:38

OK; but what if she turns out to be very large- the name will make her ridiculous?

MrsBertBibby · 19/01/2019 05:42

The king of birds!

I like it. Sweet but sparky!

DammitOedipus · 19/01/2019 08:31

I love it. Wren works with a large range of personalities, is beautiful on a baby, cute on a child, lovely on a teen, and sensible on an adult.

RainbowWaffles · 19/01/2019 08:34

I like it too!

Stormwhale · 19/01/2019 08:37

I like it. It sounds elegant and arty.

Sexnotgender · 19/01/2019 08:37

I quite like it too and I usually prefer more traditional names.

daisypond · 19/01/2019 08:42

I don't like it, sorry. Tiny, nondescript, overlooked brown bird - known for being...tiny. I don't see why you'd name a child after it. OK as a nickname for a small child only. There are better bird names if you want one. How about Merle? (French/Scottish for blackbird).

dementedpixie · 19/01/2019 08:43

They make kitchens. I'm not a fan

Mossop17 · 19/01/2019 08:44

I love it and would use it if we had another

2isabella2 · 19/01/2019 09:05

I'm not a fan I'm afraid.

scousema · 19/01/2019 09:05

Love it. I love Ophelia too.

Ophelia Wren

GissASquizz · 19/01/2019 09:07

I like it.

MrsBertBibby · 19/01/2019 09:07

Wrens are only overlooked or thought nondescript by people who don't bother to look or listen. Tiny, incredibly distinctive shape with their lovely upright tail, and LOUD! We have one living just outside, and he wakes us up some mornings singing at full blast on top of the bird box. Incredible volume for such a tiny bird.

mommymooo · 19/01/2019 09:10

I love it I just watched a series and the main character was called rin
And I really liked it and she was beautiful

3out · 19/01/2019 09:10

I like it

SuperSuperSuper · 19/01/2019 09:13

I think of kitchens too, but I reckon it's quite a sweet name - I like nature names. Would seem a bit ridiculous on a hefty girl though.

MumUnderTheMoon · 19/01/2019 09:36

I think Wren is lovely
Ophelia is being floated a lot on here at the minute so I think it could become quite commonly used in the next few months plus I just hear "oh feelin' ya"
I love Persephone it was on my list I thought nn Perry would serve if it needed to be shortened.
Persephone Wren sounds great?

comebacksoonsusan · 19/01/2019 09:39

It's OK. I know a few male Rens too.
