Is Ramona really terrible?

Due next month with a girl and our top choice of name is Ramona.

But I’ve just stumbled across another thread in which it was more or less completely panned Sad

Is it really that bad? What’s your impression of the name?

I love it. It’s the name of Maggie Gyllenhaal’s daughter as well.

I just don't think it's feminine, it's harsh and I don't like how it sounds.

I personally love the names Roma & Rumena🌷sorry op .. I just think of the nicknames people will come up with using the name Ramona ..

I love the name Ramona, like pps, I associate with Ramona Quimby. The actress who played Karen in Outnumbered is also called Ramona, if I remember rightly?

It kind of reminds me of macaroni though? I'd still use it though.

I know two, I think it's a "quirky" name that's more popular than people realise iykwim. But it's inoffensive, I don't love it but it's ok.

The cute one who played Karen, the little girl in outNumbered is called Ramona in real life.

On paper it's not ever going to be everyone's cup of tea, however it is cool when you can attach it to someone.

I got the Ramona books off Abe books and amazon I think. Loved them just as much as an adult and I'd missed the last one when I was a kid.

I love it. Beautiful, strong and a little enigmatic to me. Also has an international feel. Also love Romy and Ro as possible nicknames.

I love it , was on our list. We wanted a feminine name but one that was strong and not frilly.
