I really like Romy. I think of Remy as more of s boys name.

verybookish · 15/12/2018 18:22

Romy is lovely.

sheldonstwin · 15/12/2018 18:26

Romy is nice

Pemba · 15/12/2018 18:29

Remy (or Remi) is a male name, so Romy.

ernjas · 15/12/2018 18:47

Romy.

MyOtherProfile · 15/12/2018 18:49

Remy is a boy's name and the rat in Ratatouille.

daisypond · 15/12/2018 18:50

Romy. It's nice. Remy is a boy's name.

Nonameyet1 · 15/12/2018 18:54

Love Remy for a boy but don’t love Romy as such, Romilly is lovely with a nn of Romy?

tammytoby · 15/12/2018 19:01

Romilly!

BrendasUmbrella · 15/12/2018 19:02

I like Romy. Are you inspired by the Romy and Michelle film?

Molakai · 15/12/2018 19:05

How is Romy pronounced?
Rommy? Roamy?

NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound · 15/12/2018 19:08

Remy, I adore Remy for a girl. Really dislike Romy.

Nix32 · 15/12/2018 19:13

Romilly is beautiful. Is Romy actually a name?

Pemba · 15/12/2018 19:31

Romy is pronounced roam-y. It began as a shortening of the name Rosemarie or Rosemary.

Romy Shneider was a German film star in the 60s who also appeared in English language films.

Molakai · 15/12/2018 19:34

Thanks Pemba

Pancakepoop · 15/12/2018 19:44

Thank you. Interesting that most think of Remy as more of a boys name, although I consider it unisex I preferred it for a girl Blush

I like Romy much better but would have Romilly or Rosemary on the bc.

Molakai · 15/12/2018 19:49

I thought Romilly was pronounced 'Rommilly' rather than 'Roamilly' - hence my question about how Romy was pronounced. If its a shortening of Romilly surely it would be pronounced Rommy?

TootsyBella84 · 15/12/2018 20:09

Remy. It's my daughter's name, awesome choice Xmas Grin

Pancakepoop · 15/12/2018 20:16

TootsyBella84 what kind of reactions have you received?

Lineofbeauty · 15/12/2018 20:35

Have only ever heard Remy as a boy's name. I really love it. Romy is quite nice for a girl, although prefer Romilly.

Sophronia · 15/12/2018 20:46

Romy, but I prefer it as a nn. Remy is a French boys name.

TootsyBella84 · 15/12/2018 20:46

@Pancakepoop She's only 1 but all good reactions so far, a lot of 'you don't hear that often'. I knew it was originally a boy's name but I see it as unisex. Some people spell it 'Remi' which can be a bit annoying but yeah, I love it and it really suits her.

ISeeTheLight · 15/12/2018 20:47

Romy is better. Remy is a boy's name, my grandfather is called Remi.

toomanyeastereggsurghh · 15/12/2018 20:49

I really like Romilly, Romy for short.

Remy to me is definitely a boys name and just reminds me of Remy the rat in Ratatouille.
